Early January John wrote to our core group in our ministry in Redland Bay. We thought it would be worthwhile sharing with you all. Read on
“Jan sent me the updated South Redlands Christian Community list (of names of all the people attending our church) this morning and as I looked through the list I was touched. I could see all of you in my mind and was overwhelmed by the way our precious Lord draws people together and creates a spiritual family. I don't know how it happens, but I know it is of God and I am humbled.
The sad reality is that churches around the coun-try are shrinking and even shutting down, so to even take on a venture like we have, is against the odds.
Having said this, seeing what God has done in our little group so far excites me about the future, and convinces me that the birth of a church is a mirac le and you a l l a re par t o f that miracle. What a wonderful journey we are on! Let’s hold these thoughts in our hearts and see SRCC become the church we envision it to become”.

FAMILY NEWS
2008 Has brought many exciting changes.Thanks for praying.
John passed all his subjects at college and has a bachelor of theology. Praise the Lord.
Dave, Shardi and Allegra are enjoying life in Queensland and we are loving having them with us. Allegra is now 1 year old and an absolute delight to all of us. Dave has started full time studies at Bible College and working part time at a Coffee Club (a Queensland coffee shop chain). They are in the process of moving into their new unit.
Nathaniel also loves life in Qld and has almost completed his apprenticeship as an Electrician. He loves surfing and hanging out with his mates.
Ashlee started University on the 3rd March she is studying nursing and loving it. We are all very excited for her as this has been her dream for
many years. She will be a wonderful nurse as God has given her a compassionate heart. She is involved in the worship team both at Victoria Point Baptist Church youth services and South Redlands Christian Community.
Joshua is settling into year 12 and looking forward to having his school years behind him. He too loves his surfing and is looking forward to the soccer season starting up soon. He is still working in a surf shop.
MINISTRY
John & Sharon are really thrilled to be involved in God’s work here in Redland Bay, it is a real privilege to serve Him in this place. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support as we work to see God’s message of hope touch those He places on our path. God Bless you.
The Church plant is going well. We have a great team of people in our group and we are all very excited to see God at work.
All around us are people who a re s t r ug g l ing in the i r marriages, so we have decided to run the “Marriage Course” as an outreach to the community. it runs for 7 weeks and it is a ministry associated with “Alfa”. The course is a pre evangelistic tool that helps attendees to gain a pos i t ive apprec iat ion of Christian values. Sharon and I are participating and we are enjoying it immensely. We hope
that many in the area wi l l benefit both in their marriages and from the introduction to God.
We praise God for the steady growth of our fellowship. We have an average of 40 people attending our Sunday morning services. We are finding that the 1 hour services are working well for us. After the service we move into the main lounge area and sit and chat over coffee It’s a great time to get to know peo-ple.
We, as a church are involved in a local Easter Festival. We will have a booth there representing
our church and ministries. There are 40 churches involved and about 8000 people go through the gates on Easter Monday , it is a totally free day put on for the community. We will have some of our people greeting at the gate as people enter. We are delighted to be involved and looking forward to introducing ourselves a s a loca l church to the community.
My involvement with the youth ministry at Victoria Point is moving forward positively and I am enjoying it very much. I will be baptising 4 young ladies on the 9th of March.
