Join the Community Environmental Council as we host the South Coast Earth Day Festival on SundayApril 19, 2009 at our new, larger and much improved location at Alameda Park in Santa Barbara.

The 2008 festival featured more than 11,000 attendees and 200 booths by local businesses, governmentagencies, and non-profit organizations, as well as a full day of music, entertainment, and special guests. In itsnew location, this year’s festival will surpass those attendance figures with an expanded Green Car Show, large interactive children’s area, expanded free bicycle parking and check-ups, solar and biodiesel poweredactivities, product and technology demonstrations, and a healthy food court.

This year’s festivaltheme is “Life after Oil,” unifying a host of new exhibitors, fresh activities, and a speaker series in theweeks leading up to the festival.

The South Coast Earth Day Festival provides a great opportunity for businesses to reach a well-informed,intelligent, and open-minded consumer base to showcase their products, services, and ideas. Sponsorsreceive high-visibility promotion — from booth placement to banners and announcements on our mainstage, to the inclusion of company/organization logos on hundreds of flyers, posters and advertisementsthat are displayed both at the event, in media publications, and around the South Coast area prior to theevent.

It’s an exciting time with the recent growth in media coverage and public interest in environmental concerns! The 2008 festival received approximately $30,000 in free in-kind marketing and advertising in regional media, inaddition to a significant poster and electronic flyer campaign.

Please take a look at the enclosed materials to learn more about sponsorship levels and ourattractive benefits.

We’ll be contacting you shortly to discuss how we can create a partnership that will be mutually beneficial. Welook forward to speaking with you soon about this invaluable opportunity to make this Earth Daycelebration a success for your business.

Past South Coast Earth Day Festival Testimonials “Our participation in Earth Day is central to our mission as a company; it’s one of our key events of the year. It’s an opportunity to engage people in fabulous conversation about the planet and how it relates to building houses. We’re able to show people cutting-edge green products that many builders aren’t using.” Dennis Allen- President, Allen Associates “We always find it valuable to be part of Earth Day in the Sunken Gardens to reconnect with old customers and gain new ones…” Ellen Strickland- Owner, livingreen “I was happy to be able to speak with a number of clients in different capacities in the construction industry. In fact, I’m now keeping in very close contact with a local architect who purchased a system for his own remodel and then started specifying Takagi products for many of his projects.” Roy Hotta- Sales Leader, Takagi Tankless Water Heaters "REC Solar does more than 100 trade shows across the nation each year and the South Coast Earth Day festival is the most exciting, sustainable event we participate in. It is also one of the most productive -- this festival is great exposure to the green clientele of Santa Barbara County. And our staff loves it -- we have many employees bring their families from throughout the tri-county region." Gabe Davis- Central Coast Sales Manager, REC Solar. “The Closet had a wonderful experience as a first time sponsor / exhibitor! We will definitely do it again next year!” Johanna Melamed- The Closet “Amazing! The kids were really responsive to me as I explained what was going on with the sun being focused through the magnifying glass, and burning into the wood. I actually ran out of wood and I brought over 250 pieces for the kids.” “Lots of great questions and feedback. Excellent way to get the word out. Your volunteers were ever present and very helpful! Thanks go to your agency, staff and your volunteers!!!” “We ran out of everything that we had to pass out and have pages of leads to follow up on...” “This was a fantastic event. I had the opportunity to see many of my regular customers and hopefully bring many more into the store!” “I love the local feel around this event. I always see old friends and make new ones. I do 30 events per year and this is my favorite because people are happy about the event and the energy is great.” “I really think CEC does a great job publicizing this event and putting it together. I enjoyed the caliber of questions coming from the attendees. There were so many opportunities to educate so many young minds!” “Very friendly crowd...good energy...like minded people....most gratifying.” “ The “TravelPass” was an amazing way to get people involved and educated. I was wondering if it would really "pay off". Sure, there were people that wanted to get the stamp and split, but many others once there were actively participating and interested in our projects.” “Incredible vibe! Great attendance! Fun event!” “I was very pleased with the communication via e-mail prior to the event and also with the staff at the event who came around several times to be sure we had all the equipment we requested.” “Well organized, registration was easy, CEC volunteers and staff is friendly and easy to work with. There was a fabulous energy throughout the day!!!”
