Last Saturday our club celebrated it’s 80th Anniversary in style at our sponsor Deer Park Club’s main function room. It was a full house with over 150 people in attendance. We celebrated our history, acknowledged our Life Members, followed by our Top 21 players list of all-time, our 4 inductees to the Australian Baseball Hall of Fame. Following that we had a wonderful meal then we proceeded to induct two new members to our own Hall of Fame and the one inductee to our Legend’s. The inductees and acknowledgements are all listed on the pages following for you to view. Of course the night wouldn't have gone off so well without the tireless work of the 80th Anniversary Committee and other members who insured that all went as planned and we thank you all so much. Also thank you to the people who donated some unbelievable items that we raffled off on the night. Our 80th Anniversary memorabilia will be for sale and on display in the new glass cabinet in the club rooms by next week. On field there was lots of baseball action to be seen and the team brief reports are also on the following pages. • The U16s had the weekend off with the bye, so they will be keen as to get onto the diamond this Sunday as they take on

the Ballarat Brewers at home. Gook luck guys !!

The U18s combined team had a good game and were very competitive for the most part with all players contributing.

Thanks goes to James and Harvey for stepping up for the round.

The Masters played Essendon, which is always a very competitive game for the lads. This time Essendon got the

jump on them, but that will only spur them on for next week.

The 3rds started of great racking up 4 runs in the first innings on Sunday, but the game unfortunately got away from them.

No doubt these guys will improve as their season goes on.

The 2nds fell short by a handful of runs in their game and as usual, it is always one dig that can do the damage. Well done

to Lachlan Ruyter for his Grand Slam, an outstanding at bat !!

Our first nine were unable to get the required runs again this week and will be looking to turn the tables, as they take on

Upwey Ferntree Gully again this coming weekend.

The Rookies in the group are showing lots of potential and will have the opportunity this Friday to participate in their first

Rookie Ball game at Newport, should be a great time for all.

The 4ths had a great come from behind win over Upwey Ferntree Gully on the weekend. Well done guys, that shows a

lot of spirit and will be a game to reflect on when you need to.

The Vultures had a great game at home last Friday against our own Falcons. It was a very close game in the end with both

teams only being separated by one run, great game by all.

The Hawks once again were in fine form swinging the bats well and making the plays when required. Well done kids,

keep enjoying your baseball and keep on having fun.

Our Little League Falcons were in form and played some fine baseball at home last Friday. Well done to all players for your

efforts, it is only early days and you are all going just great.

TEAM NEWS Our Tee Ballers had their first session last week and the certainly was a lot of excitement and enthusiasm from all of

the kids. We are looking forward to this week for more fun.

The Raptors had an interesting game against Williamstown, as they were chasing the runs from the 2nd innings on, but to their

credit they fought back in the last minutes to have a drawn game.

The Condors took on Werribee Giants and had a close game indeed. The pitching and defence side of things were good and

it only came down to the last inning for a very close finish.

Jaydon reported that the Little League Major team have been outstanding in the 2 weeks that he has had them under his wing.

They are swinging the bat well and are improving all the time.
