自己分析 (Jiko bunseki / “Self Analysis”) In the “self-analysis and evaluation” phase, you ask yourself about your strengths, weaknesses, interests, skills, values, future dreams, etc. This self-analysis will allow you to choose a suitable job and present your-self well in your resume and interviews.

業界・企業研究 (Gyokai-kigyo kenkyu / “Industry & Company Research”)

Learning about an industry will increase your knowledge about the job you are applying for. By researching the industry and company, you can con-vey to the hiring staff your passion for that position.

OB & OG (Oh-bi & oh-gi / “Alumni”） Contacting TIU alumni or friends who have graduated from another university is a great way to learn more about a company/industry and about the job hunting process. To find alumni, seek family, friends, class-mates, companies, or LinkedIn for introductions.

インターンシップ (“Internship”) Through an internship, you can gain valuable work ex-perience and a candid look at Japanese industries and the Japanese workplace. An internship can sometimes lead to a part-time job or a higher chance of employ-ment after graduation.

会社説明会 (Kaisha setsumei kai / ”Company Briefing Sessions”)

During the job hunting season, companies hold info sessions. These sessions are sometimes used by companies to evaluate applicants, but you can also

use the sessions as 企業研究/“company research”!
