Study...Habits!Now that we are in high school, as we in bark on a journey that will change our lives forever, our lives as a high schooler.

As we start our high school life we tend to have a hard time changing, adapting to a new study habit. “the 7 day cycle” no more tests, just assessments & performance tasks.

Every student works and learn on their own pace it some at times would work faster and learn more efficiently than others, but because of that it creates a balance in our school society where we all excel in certain criterias

Eventually students adapt to our situation and eventually gets a hang of the life of a high schooler as a freshmen my self it took me the entire 1st quarter to finally get a hang of the 7 day cycle and the assessments given to us

Eventually we learn the darker side of high school, assessments get harder, work lord Increases, and we slowly find less and less time to do what we want, eventually we started calling this period “Hell week”

New experiences !

Eventually we also tend to learn new things in high school in, since grade school we were introduced to many activities, field trips, fairs and variety shows.These are a few of the activity our school offers to us since we turned 4th grade.

With these we learned to socialize with one another to get to know people and to make new friends to prepare us what the years to come. to help us further understand how to get along with one another.

In high school the school continues to teach and provide us these activities to further help us understand the value of socializing,

In high school we know every one of us after the 7 years of shuffling us we met new classmates paired with new teachers who teaches us new things .

In high school its different our school arranges interactions for us with other schools to further expand our field of friendship, now that weʼre in high school we also tend to hold soriees with other schools to make new friends and to socialize with one another

Projects & Assessments!

As I said in before now that we are in high school there are no more test, or if there is they are fairly minimal to Math and Science others give out performance tasks and/or assessments which are like take home projects you do at home and submit on a designated dead line given to you by the teachers

You may be asking, how is this any different from the regular projects that were given in grade school ?

well these assessments most of the time counts for 20% and at time they count for 10% and there are in total 3 to 5 of these in a quarter before the quarterly exams.

You make think that this is easier that taking tests on a 2 week basis but youʼre wrong, assessments at times could be even harder than tests, some of them even requires weeks to accomplish with dead lines making you worry and other assessments piling up it can give any high school students a run for their money as they try and cope with the schedule of their high school lives

Grades & Awards !

Here in high school we also have a different form of grading instead of 1 to 100 we use letter grades from A + being excellent till F which corresponds to F fail

The high school department uses this so that we wont be so focused on computing the passing grade but instead to aim for that A in the card.

With D being the passing score and A+ being the highest you need at least a B+ in all the subjects including ECA (extra curricular activities) to achieve at least the 2nd honor level, youʼre conduct and effort in class will also be looked at when making the decision to bestow the award to you .

Just like in grade school one thing is for sure people are awarded for theyʼre efforts and hard work, the same awards are given in grade school as well as high school but I think that the subject excellence is either gone or will be sited some place else .

Conclusions!In the end no matter what we will always remember our grade school experience but we enter high school we open our selves to the new age, the Golden age as we embark on a journey of self awareness as we truly find our selves.

Make new friends, meet new people, experience a new environment and a new side of school.

Every one says to cherish youʼre high school lives and as I end my Freshmen Yr. I learn that they are right this final years to come would be the most life changing ones! Luceat Lux ! let youʼre light shine !
