How e-Crypt Works In this example, Fred needs to send Julie details about the end of year accounts. 1) Fred creates an email using Microsoft Outlook in the usual way, clicks the e-Crypt Encrypt button in the ribbon and when prompted, enters Julie’s phone number. Alternatively, he could use the e-Crypt website. Messages can be sent to multiple recipients and attachments will be encrypted and stored in the secure PDF.

2) The secure email is then delivered to Julie’s email account. Meanwhile an SMS text message with the unique password is sent to her phone number.

3) The secure email contains a PDF attachment which can only be opened using the password that has been received in the SMS message.

4) The opened PDF will contain both the body of the email and any attachments.
