PGDM 2017-19Post Graduate Diploma In Management
Responsible Management Education
Established in 1993, IILM offers AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management at its three well-located campuses in the National Capital Region.
With the curriculum benchmarked against the best in the world, the IILM PGDM goes beyond Finance, Marketing, OB-HR, and Operations. After close interaction and inputs from the Indian industry, our integrated and experiential PGDM curriculum puts together the best of leading global B-Schools’ experiences. It offers experiential learning avenues through Field Courses Career Trek and Community Experience; as at Harvard, Wharton and Yale respectively.
The course curriculum embeds Business Simulation and Harvard’s learning material in its core delivery method. The programme is designed to offer inbuilt flexibility advantages to students in cognizance of varying learning needs/capabilities and also their professional involvement in commercial workspace.
With nearly 25 years of experience in training future entrepreneurs and managers, IILM is proud to have 9000+ well placed alumni in top companies across India and abroad.
The IILM PGDM
Our students are trained differently from typical classroom setting. They have sound academic knowledge supplemented with experiential learning that helps them do well at every step of their career. They are armed with the concepts and skills required to position them a cut above the rest. They are confident and effective decision makers ready to be challenged by the best in the country.
“Management is a profession as managers commit themselves to certain superordinate goals; managers commit to efficiency. They use the resources given to them efficiently - not just in a static sense but more so in a dynamic sense. Resources are not just physical assets but physical and human assets too. So there has to be a spirit in managers of saying we will take the enterprise we have been given and will run it to the best of our capacities for a long run advantage”

Our curriculum combines the best aspects of courses offered at top business schools around the world. The modules are inspired by the Wharton Business School, the Harvard Business School, the Yale School of Management and the IIMs. They aim at combining theory with practical training so that students are capable of turning concepts into decisions, knowledge into action and ideas into change.
The program is delivered in 6 terms; each term spread over 3 calendar months. In the first year of the Program, students learn basic concepts that are the building blocks of management. Begin with ‘Orientation to Management’ students learn a set of core skills that will be applicable across the board.
Courses that look at how organizations really work with their stakeholders are dealt with in the ‘Organizational Perspective’, these courses are taught with the help of Harvard cases (supported by HBSP readings) and class room simulations, prepare students to critically analyse situations and take responsible decisions. The Integrated Management Perspective looks at real organizational dilemmas and the complex challenges involved in working or leading a business organisation.
The Global Study programme will provide students the option to choose subjects basis their specialisation. The subjects taught during the Global study programme will be regarded as ‘Elective’ courses and integrated in the two year PGDM curriculum.
The second year also offers a choice of a number of electives in a range of areas that provide for specialization.
1. Globally BenchmarkedCurriculum
Our curriculum provides for experiential learning through• FIELD• Career Trek and • Classroom to Community
The FIELD module is divided into 3 parts
FIELD 1Aims at improving the students’ teamwork and leadership skills. Students understand the dynamics of working in teams and how individual performance affects overall team performance.
FIELD 2Reiterates team building skills while instilling problem solving and presentation skills in the students. Lastly,
FIELD 3Works on formulating a business plan in order to make learning more practical and engaging for a micro-business of a new product/service idea.
Career Trek
Requires students to interact with the HR personnel of reputed organizations, to gain first hand understanding of key skills required for job profiles across industries. Student groups visit their dream companies, and interact with different functional heads, taking in key inputs that enable them to plan their career paths.
Classroom To Community
Involves students taking up opportunities to work in social enterprises and NGOs and putting to use various business tools and techniques. They experience the flavour of community service by working in various parts of the country. IILM offers students the opportunity to convert their ideas into businesses and pursue a full term management program, thus helping them realize their full potential. With the aim of providing unmatched flexibility IILM has introduced the Flexible track into our curriculum for Entrepreneurs and students involved in their Family Business.
FOR ENTREPRENEURS WORKING ON START-UPS
The program offers first generation entrepreneurs inspiration and encouragement to shape their ideas into fruitful business ventures. In this time and age of Tech Start Ups, big ideas are germinating everywhere, even in classrooms of educational institutions. All these young minds need is a place to shape to their entrepreneurship zeal. The IILM Startup Incubation Center is there to nurture andgrow their ventures. It provides support functions, mentorship and resources to individual entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial setups. It also provides direction to an ecosystem comprising Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors, and experienced faculty/ alumni guides. This enables entrepreneurs to get all the expert advice and technical guidance that they need to survive for a longer time, unlike most other entrepreneurial ventures that fizzle out within a few months of their launch.
FAMILY BUSINESS MANAGERS
Indian business families often find a generalized management education too broad based to address the requirement of their niche areas. They already have an established and, more often, a thriving business model. The IILM PGDM program allows students to study at IILM while continuing to work in their family businesses. The flexibility in the curriculum allows students to enhance their skills to leverage the strengths of family business management and successfully implement practices that drive high performance. The program also provides new direction and helps them expand the family’s existing business.

In the today’s business environment, it has become vital to tap into global markets in order to ensure the viability of a venture. Creating and maintaining international relationships and networks are key skills that all managers are expected to have. In keeping with these requirements, IILM mandates a 4-week global study in Germany, Canada, Finland, France or Spain. The purpose of the global study is to give students a global exposure in terms of teaching pedagogy, industry visits and diverse cultural immersion to enable them to expand and develop their outlook. In addition to academic sessions, students get to visit and observe operations of different global organisations and increase their understanding of international
working standards and systems.
2. Global Study
A prominent and enriching Global Business Study Program
initiated by IILM with an paramount aim to catapult the
conscience of business & management studies amongst the
budding management aspirants. We had an auspicious
opportunity to study for 4 weeks in the ‘University Of Winnipeg’
Canada. We were taught three electives- International Business,
Entrepreneurship, and Marketing by the maven faculty of the university who shared their
sheer wisdom polishing us on the intricacies of the subjects and guiding us to be inquisitive
in overall personality development. Arrangements were made for our comfortable and hassle
free stay in Mc’Feetors hall situated right in the heart of the city. The hospitality our host pupil
was praise worthy around the clock. It was an privilege to study in international settings and
experience an paradigm stimulation for mind. Etched many cherish able memories.

The study abroad program was one of the multiple treats given by IILM to me. Visiting an institute in Germany and studying there was the experience of a lifetime. I studied four subjects in the tenure of one month. It was not just about the subjects and the
international style of teaching in such an institute; it was an enriching and overall personality enhancing experience. I am thankful to IILM to give this opportunity to me and let me have this sort of global exposure. I studied and understood the market conditions
and approaches that a manager requires for doing business around the globe, also one major aspect of doing business in some country is to understand their culture, which I got a chance to experience program. Since I visited Germany, I got a chance to visit
other countries with open borders to Germany, which included France, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Czech Republic. It became a memory of a lifetime for me and thanks to this program, I got a chance understand the culture in multiple countries in
Europe which I believe will definitely me help in planning, strategizing, and making business decisions in the future in these and many other places in the world.

The mentoring program at IILM is geared to provide students with the necessary skill set that they will need to compete in the current business environment. The Program supports students’ continuous growth, development and the building of personal and professional capabilities. An individual faculty member is allotted to each student as a mentor for the term of his/her PGDM. This allocation is based on the student’s profile and previous work experience so that the mentoring is relevant and not mismatched. The faculty mentor guides and advises the student on a regular basis so that his/her best interests are met. A personal relationship is created which allows for a complete understanding of the student’s aspirations, strengths and weaknesses. This information then filters down into a customized development of the student.
Mentoring sessions has been of great help to me in my professional growth and personal
development. My mentor has always been a constant support throughout my journey in
IILM. She shares her knowledge, experience and gives the best advice for anything and
everything. She is a true guide who tries to get the best out of me. She has always taught me to
“Keep my options open” and tackle situations cleverly. I believe that without these mentoring
sessions I could not have got a chance to know myself and excel in the required areas.

3. StrongMentoringProgram
Internships are a vital component of the PGDM programme and aim to give hands-on industry experience to our students and thus laying the foundations for their future placements. Our curriculum mandates a 3 month long internship which provides a great opportunity to students to understand organizations and gain practical experience. Students are also provided opportunities to go for international internships.
Faculty mentors are involved in the finalization of the project undertaken by their mentees. The Faculty mentors are also in touch with the company mentors throughout the Summer Internship project and visit the company twice to keep abreast of the students’ performance. Students are required to submit regular progress reports to their faculty mentors as a part of their evaluation. Final presentation/viva of the students are conducted at company premises or the company mentors are invited to IILM in order to actively involve company mentors during the final assessment of the project work.
4. Internships My experience with IILM’s study abroad program has been very
rewarding. From day 1, I focused on making the best use of the
opportunities that came to me. I knew that networking plays a major
role in our field. Hence, I always tried to keep close contacts with my
teachers, mentors and the professors at ISM Dortmund. In the given
one month apart from exploring the German culture, I made sure to
perform exceptionally well in my studies.
The internship at GREY Dusseldorf was a result of the same. I received
this offer through a professor at ISM Germany while attending the
one month study abroad program.. With a few successful interviews,
I was able to get in as an intern in the company. This internship will
definitely play a very important role with my further placements
and job search.
IILM gave me the best platform to enhance and showcase my
strengths. With the help of my mentors, I was also able to overcome
my weaknesses and give my best. IILM gives each of its students the
same set of opportunities to achieve excellence, but the motivation
to excel and achieve big should come from within to make the most
of these given opportunities.

Students joining a Business-School are primarily concerned with placements. We at IILM understand this need to set a path to the future and aim at securing the best possible industrial experience for our students. Six Placement Workshops are held over a period 2 years, comprising of Mastering the Art of Networking, Problem Solving Skills, Functional Skills Building and Adapting to Workplace. The workshops also include events and industry networking opportunities that are offered throughout the year, enabling students to develop a balanced portfolio of competencies, built on the foundation of academic strength and career readiness.
Ideal placement opportunities are sought for students based on their aptitude and interests. The institute conducts four Placement Weeks in a year to give better industry exposure to students, during which recruiters are invited to deliver Pre-placement Talks and interact with students. Students are briefed on the skills required for getting a job and doing well in the industry and also clarify doubts regarding the same, which in turn help students to make an informed decision while opting for Summer Internship/Final Placements. IILM has been making considerable efforts in getting better brands for campus placement each year. In last 2 years, we have been able to get brands like Godrej, PWC, Whirlpool, Marico, Protiviti, ITC, Airtel, Vodafone, GE Capital, Dentsu etc to hire from the campus for the first time and now they have become our regular recruiters. We have also been getting leading startups like OYO Rooms, Grofers, Food panda, Chai Point, Zomato, Urban clap etc for campus placements. Our recruiters comprise over 300 companies across the country spanning over a range of industries.

MANISH KATHURIA - 1995 - 97National Business Manager: Priority Banking Kotak Mahindra Bank
The IILM MBA experience was truly fantastic, as it provided me with a right mix of academic
theory and practical business experience (still recall the multiple orientations which we have
had at various corporates, which was the first brush with what was in store and helped in tuning
ourselves better). The curriculum and the infrastructure was well in tune to the needs to operate
successfully in todays dynamic business environment. The key learnings and takeaways for me
were in the field of leadership, analytics and the inter personal skills, which was strengthened
and built through the case studies approach and the presentations done in a team. The refining
of the existing skill sets coupled with the new learnings at the campus has been a rewarding
experience in my professional career.
Mohit Chopra - 1995 - 97Product Head and Job fair and Events

Globally benchmarked curriculum of IILM produces the vibrant, ambitious and dynamic managers of future. Students are well prepared and exposed to the world class education to stand and face the competitive market. I believe a regular visits and interaction with the top leaders of the corporate world gives an opportunity to IILM’ians to get exposure to the real world much before entering to the corporate world. One of the key emphasis of on one to one interaction and assigning a mentor gives immense confidence among the students by the time they are ready to face the competitive world. Faculty is rich with academic and industry experiences.
I strongly believe IILM is building and fashioning entrepreneurs and leaders of future. The trend at which start-ups are mushrooming in the country, plus few govt. policies of digital India, Skill India, Make in India makes the Demand for management students much higher and I strongly believe students of IILM could take up the challenge to proves themselves as an asset.
My Best wishes to IILM faculty, management and students.
IILM has 3 campuses that are centrally located in New Delhi, Gurgaon and Greater Noida. But the goal driving them forward is one and the same – to train and develop skilled and responsible managers of the future.
Lodhi Road is the hub of South Delhi, bustling with activities and places to visit. Being at the political center of the country allows students to be privy to first hand developments in business and politics alike.
The Gurgaon campus is located on Golf Course Road, in the heart of the industrial hub of Gurgaon - an epicenter of industry as well as startups. Our students have the advantage of gaining the rich knowledge of business and entrepreneurship from their surroundings as well as our in-house incubation center.
Our Greater Noida Campus, it is located in the Knowledge Park of Greater Noida with easy access to companies like LG and Moser Baer. Educational institutions in the area also provide a platform for networking and knowledge sharing.
Our Gurgaon and Greater Noida campuses provide safe and secure residences for students and faculty alike. Constant monitoring by security guards and cameras, comfortably furnished apartments, delicious and wholesome food, and a friendly environment ensure that students can live in a safe and comfortable haven – a ‘home away from home’.
8. Centrally Located Campuses and Safe and Secure On - Campus Residences
My choice for the Gurgaon campus was purely for its in campus
hostel facility, its location in the hub of the corporate arena and for
the consistent placement record. IILM Gurgaon has been a premier
business school for the last 24 years now which essentially means
that it has been, both, a witness to the explosion of MNC offices and
a contributor to the very same.
Today B schools have adapted themselves to train students to turn into first generation
entrepreneurs and there cannot be a better place for such exposure than Gurgaon, the North
India counter-part to the likes of Bangalore in the South.
We have dedicated classes for gym, yoga and interactions with industry experts which helps
us understand the real world of business, much before we join the spectrum.
I can confirm that the air conditioned accommodation is bound to impress you with daily
routine cleaning of rooms and washrooms, 24x7 security services, cabs facility to college
(from out campus boys hostel), library, recreational areas with indoor games, PlayStation 3
(yes, you heard that right) and lots more. I have had a busy and a wonderful time at IILM
Gurgaon which for sure has been above my initial expectations. I wish the college all the best
and regard each one, for their faith in me so far.
