We foster creativ-ity and curiosity in students, cultivating open-mindedness and individual reflection. Students are engaged in school life as well as in the life of the larger community. We set the building blocks of life-long learning and prepare students to become active partici-pants in a democratic society.

We enable students to navigate our complex, global society. As part of a global educa-tion group we have a unique role in bridging continents, uniting cultures, exchanging ideas and fostering friendships for a bet-ter world.

Dedication is re-quired for dreams to become reality. We value achievement and promote individual growth by meeting each student’s in-terests, abilities and needs. We continually strive for academic excellence, building on previous successes and constantly improv-ing opportunities for learning.

We celebrate our diversity, we celebrate our achievements and we have fun together.

Pre School - responding to individual differences… From ages 3 to 4 instruction seeks to build upon what chil-dren already know. Through fun themes included in the Early Years International Primary Curriculum (IPC) children develop their enquiry, thinking, reasoning, decision-making, problem solving and mathematical abilities. The acquisition of English language skills is of key importance, particularly through speaking, phonics and literacy awareness. We are able to cater for students who speak little or no English.

From age 5 students commence the formal curriculum through Cambridge English and Mathematics programmes as well as IPC. Students learn about the world in a playful way and build foundational skills in Dutch.

Throughout Pre-School learning is enhanced with participation in Physical Education, Music, Arts, Craft and Dance.

In a loving and caring environment we encourage respect for one another and the world around us, good manners and ap-propriate behaviour and run mixed age learning activities. We celebrate birthdays, Sinterklaas, Diwali, Hanukah, Eid, Christ-mas, Carnival, Halloween and various other cultural traditions relevent to our students.

In a loving and caring environ-ment we teach respect for one another and the world around us

Primary School - nurturing inquisitive minds…

Students aged 6 to 10 enjoy a vibrant and exciting learning ex-perience. They follow the Cambridge International Mathemat-ics and English curricula, as well as standardised examina-tions to assess progress against international benchmarks.

Students continue the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Divided into units of work, following themes designed to ap-peal to children, the IPC builds international understanding and includes Geography, History, ICT, Science, Art and Drama, as well as numerous field trips. Dutch, French, Music, Personal and Social Education, Physical Education and swimming are also part of the formal educational programme. Learning is supported and enriched by team teaching and challenge activities, individual learning targets and English as an addi-tional language support. We pride ourselves on detailed school reports and productive parent-teacher meetings.

Shared projects connect us to others around the world. A positive classroom atmosphere, nurturing school environ-ment, awards, celebration of birthdays, cultural events and house activities help students feel supported and confident. We strive to meet each child’s individual needs and help them develop good manners and appropriate behavior. Our engag-ing curriculum encourages a love of learning.

Middle School - a mix of practical experience and theoretical knowledge…

The Middle School curriculum gives students a solid base from which to work in a variety of disciplines. Of course the nurtur-ing elements of Primary School are still evident, but we instill a sense of independence and prepare students for the social, emotional and academic challenges of secondary education.

In these 3 middle school years, students follow the traditional subject areas, but also make connections between subject areas, such as showing how Science and Geography link; look-ing at the use of Math in Art, using English grammar in second language acquisition. By making these connections explicit, students are able to broadly apply their knowledge, skills and understanding.

In addition to making connections between subject areas, students connect what they learn to the world in which we live through global learning activities.

Students participate in a broad range of sporting and cultural activities such as basketball, football, swimming, music and art club. Also, students take part in a Belgian outdoor education camp and ski week in Italy. Cambridge Checkpoint exams are taken in class 8, enabling teachers and students to gauge progress against students in other international schools globally, and are an excellent preparation for the IGCSE examinations and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Senior School - pathways to the future… After completing the Middle School curriculum and Cambridge Checkpoint exams, our students have gained the skills of col-laborative learning and inquiry-based research, sat rigorous exams and undertaken learning activities of a local and global nature.

Students undertake the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Classes 9 and 10. This course is a 2-year programme with a wide range of subjects. Decisions on examination entries are usually made in agree-ment with the teacher, the parent and the pupil. All IGCSE subjects follow the syllabus set out by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).

In Classes 11 and 12, students follow the International Bac-calaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Diploma students study six subjects over two years, one from each of six subject groups. Three subjects are studied at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. Additionally, all IB Diploma students take the three core elements of the diploma: Theory of Knowl-edge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Action and Service. Students may also choose to take a selection of IB subjects instead of the full IB Diploma.

Both the IGCSE and IB give the very best academic prepa-ration for university. Universally recognised for excellence, they strike the right balance between content, independent study, internal and external assessment.

The student experience is enriched by the IB Community, Ac-tion, Service programme (CAS), the Duke of Edinburgh’s Inter-national Award and global student exchange opportunities. We also have a unique method of preparing students for higher education, helping them build a path to their desired future. Our individual career coaching approach helps students design an Individual Academic Pathway. This pathway contains ad-vice on subject choices, co-curricular activities, organisations to become involved with, student exchange programmes and university and workplace visitation programmes. In doing so, we help each and every student to build the resumé that will help them stand out from the crowd.

We also have a unique method of preparing students for highereducation, helping them build a path to their desired future.

Co-curricular programme -enhancing excellence…Learning outside the classroom forms an important partof a student’s development. Participation in sport and co- curricular activities builds resilience and perseverance, pro-moting physical and mental health, having a positive influence on social skills and, most of all, fun! That’s why we have intro-duced our co-curricular programme.

Physical Education and competitionsOur comprehensive physical education programme includes swimming, gymnastics, athletics, ball sports, fitness, climbing, cricket and a variety of activities that vary annually. Students are entered into competitions with other schools, including cross country running.

Creativity, Action, Service (CAS)The International Baccalaureate’s CAS programme requires students to participate in creative pursuits, sport and service to those in need.

Duke of Edinburgh International AwardSenior School students are challenged in the globally rec-ognized Duke of Edinburgh International Award at bronze, silver and gold levels. This links with their Global Perspectives curriculum and gives a valuable advantage in applying for university places and jobs. Over 8 million people globally have participated in this award.

Community OutreachLinked to International Primary Curriculum and Global Per-spectives courses, students participate in a range of com-munity activities, including a UN peace march, fundraising for Water Aid and UNICEF as well other charities, community day, carnivale parade and inter-school projects.
