Modular Desktop Elements IFV Applications are modular, self-contained and packaged desktopelements such as applications, add-ons and updates that werevirtualized using InstallFree's products. They possess the unique ability to dynamically bind to each other with no special pre-configuration. Through the InstallFree Bridge, IT departments can introduce a modular design to corporate application delivery schemes, providingunprecedented ease of management when decoupled desktopelements can be separately added, removed, replaced and repaired,with no need to repackage, regression-test or reconfigure them in anyway. Dynamic Binding InstallFree’s dynamic binding enables decoupled desktop elementsto dynamically bind with each other and the host PC environmentduring runtime.

Seamless Communication IFV applications are designed with a binding layer that allowsthem to communicate freely with other IFV applications in thesame environment without being virtualized in the same IFVpackage or specially configured. This Dynamic Bindingcommunication allows not only the free flow of data betweentwo separately packaged virtual applications but also allowsthem to work with each other naturally as if they were bothinstalled on the same machine, providing for instance MS OfficeWord the ability to insert an Excel table even if the MS Excel isvirtualized in a separate package. Seamless Convergence Dynamic Binding also allows separately packaged componentsof an application (add-ons, updates, etc.) to bind and convergeat runtime on the host PC allowing for on-the fly patching, as well as enabling the deployment of multi-flavored applicationsacross the organization using a single application package (i.e.MS Office Excel with MSN Money for the finance department,Random Generator for R&D department, etc.) It is this samefeature which allows IFV Applications to converge with theuser’s personal stateful UserData file. Seamless Integration The InstallFree Bridge provides complete and naturalintegration into the host environment including icons and fileassociations, right-click menu options, shortcuts on the desktopand in the start menu, with no special configuration needed.This utilizes the applications' natural settings, eliminating theneed to meticulously define specific icons, file extension andgeneral shell integration prior to deployment.

Clientless InstallFree leverages its unique IFV technology to acceleratedeployment and enable end-users to compute anywhere with nolimitations. The InstallFree Bridge virtual agent allows users to workon non-dedicated PCs without depending on installed clients orunlocked PCs, turning any computer into a generic computing devicein which end-users can access their personalized applications fromany Windows-based platform. Serverless The InstallFree Bridge does not require a dedicated back-endinfrastructure and can be deployed based on the organization'sexisting environment. One of the key factors that restrainorganizations from deploying new technologies is the significantupfront investment in hardware and manpower needed to setup,install and configure new products. InstallFree is focused on providing solutions that take advantage ofcurrent systems and can be deployed in a very short time. Byimporting the domain-schema from Active Directory into a virtualmanagement console that does not require any installation, andusing a file or HTTP server to store IFV Application packages anduser-specific UserData files, the time to use of virtual applications isgreatly reduced. PowerGuest PowerGuest prevents virtual applications from writing anyinformation to the host OS. This allows IFV Applications to workunder limited/guest account privileges (Locked-down machines)while providing virtual admin-like privileges from within the virtualapplication. The PowerGuest layer also heightens security measuresas it denies the IFV application ability to directly write data into thesystem files of other IFV Applications and non-virtual applications,virtually eliminating the risk of compromised applications infectingthe host OS and other applications. Personalized Applications The UserData file is an external file that contains the personalizationand customization data that an application uses. It is a stateful filethat retains encrypted user specific information and dynamicallybinds with the stateless IFV Application's package during runtime,creating the end-user's own application, with their personal settingsand properties. This allows for the efficient 1-to-many architecturewhich allows one application package to be used for multiple end-users, in multiple environments while maintaining and saving alltheir data separately for access in any location at any time. Application Streaming InstallFree offers a clientless, block-level and user-mode basedstreaming that streams applications with accordance to usage, as itstreams only the data needed for the specific modules and functionsused by the end-user.
