SITE INFORMATION Joe Rowell Park is comprised of 25 acres that is bordered by the Dolores River. There are two well-manicured level softball fields which will be the trial arenas, grassy fields for crating, adequate parking, and RV parking area for 35 units without hook ups, and limited areas for tent camping. Fishing is allowed along the river with a current Colorado fishing license.

Crating space will be allowed in the designated area only. Crates may be left overnight;

however, the Durango Kennel Club and the Joe Rowell Park will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items left at the show site. There will not be a food vendor on site but there are various restaurants and a grocery store

nearby. VENDORS If you would like a vendor space, please contact Pam Leisle at [email protected] or phone (970) 749-9812 by July 13, 2018.

Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so

may be excused without benefit of refund if the Trial Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement.

MEASURING and HEIGHT CARD INFORMATION

If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running. Please mark the appropriate box on the entry form that specifies if your dog needs to be measured. All Owners are responsible for marking the appropriate box.

All Measurements Are Effective Immediately

Exception: Challenge Measurements to Permanent Jump Height Become Effective when Challenge Measurement Process is Complete (see Regulations)

Dogs Entered in Preferred Classes Must Run in measured Height Division Must be moved up or down to proper height

All agility dogs are required to have an Official Jump Height Card/Valid yellow form and exhibitors must be able to present it prior to running their dog(s) in any class or at any time during the trial upon request whether or not they have sent a copy of such with their entry. Dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form may still compete; but they must be measured/wicketed by the Judge of Record PRIOR to running in their class and this

measurement will be valid for that weekend of trials only. The exception to this requirement is a dog entered in the 24” height division. However, if a Volunteer Measuring Official (VMO) or an Agility Field Rep is present; ALL dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form must be

measured at some time during the trial or cluster of trials. This does not preclude having the

dog wicketed by the Judge of Record if the VMO or Rep is not available to measure the dog before its first run of the trial or cluster of trials. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running and failure to do so will result in the cancellation of any qualifying scores.

DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER

As it states in the Regulations for Agility Trials, Chapter 1, Section 3, “All dogs fifteen (15) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds are eligible to participate.” Refer to Chapter 2 of the Registration & Discipline Rules for the listing of registerable breeds that may participate.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS

SAFETY, BEHAVIOR and LIABILITY The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge

that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. All dogs must be on leash and in control at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated warm-up area. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs

and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the trial committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The Durango Kennel Club and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. The Durango Kennel Club reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any

dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against the Durango Kennel Club or any official thereof. REFUNDS No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil

disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by the action of the Trial Committee.

This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC Entry Form for this event.

Bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Agility Trials. As such, the club will refund

the entry fee paid (less judge and secretary fees) for bitches unable to compete for this reason upon presentation of a veterinarian certificate. This certificate must be presented to the Trial Secretary 30 minutes prior to the start of judging on the first day of the trial or cluster of trials.

Judges are not required to wait for dogs. They will adhere as closely as possible to the Judging Schedule. The owner or handler of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The trial giving club and the Trial Secretary have no obligation or responsibility for locating dogs that are not at ringside when required.

At the handler’s option, dogs may wear flat buckle or quick snap collars, but there shall be no hanging tags or attachments. Choke, pinch, electric, or dummy collars are prohibited.

All regulations governing the use of this facility and all regulations and decisions of the Trial Committee of this trial-giving club on these days will be strictly enforced.

Exhibitors and handlers will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates and parking areas. Dogs may be exercised ONLY in designated areas. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their own dogs AT ALL TIMES. No dogs are allowed

unattended overnight at the Trial site. Puppies under 4 months of age are strictly prohibited from the grounds. Entries must reach the Trial Secretary by Wednesday, July 18, 2018, 5 p.m. (MST) or when the allowed number of entries per day have been reached. Fees must accompany all

entries. Exhibitors are responsible for complete, accurate and legible information on their entry forms. Postdated checks and returned checks will invalidate an entry with a $25 Service Fee charged for returned checks. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. Telephoned & unsigned entries cannot be accepted. Entries not on official AKC Entry Forms or photocopies of entry forms without the Agreement and Rules are not acceptable. No entry shall be made and no entry accepted which specifies any conditions to its acceptance. Entries cannot be accepted, cancelled, altered or substituted after the entries have closed except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the Dog Show Rules. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to the close of entries. Those received by phone are not acceptable. Long distance calls for information on this Trial will be returned COLLECT. Calls may be accepted from 9AM to 8PM (MST) ONLY. There is no refund

for duplicate entries. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if the entry has been processed, no refund will be made. For single copies of the Regulations for Agility Trials, write to the AKC, 8051 Arco Corporate Drive, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27617-3390 or e-mail [email protected]. This trial will be conducted in accordance with the Regulations for Agility Trials, effective Sept. 1, 2010. “Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.”

OBSTACLES AND RING CONDITIONS

Obstacles will meet the specifications for obstacles in the current edition of the Regulations for Agility Trials. All classes will take place outdoors on a grass surface. Ring size will be 100 ft. x 100 ft. minimum.

COURSE WALK-THROUGHS AND WARM-UP INFORMATION

Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, during a walk-through period held prior to the start of the class. The walk-through is restricted to handlers entered in that class only. A warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, may be provided for exhibitors. The warm-up area is to be used exclusively for warming up the dog and not for training or relieving of the dog.

RIBBONS

Ribbons will be awarded in each jump height division:

First Place……………………………………...……………...………….…….………….…..Blue Second Place……………...……………………..…………………………………….………Red Third Place……………………………………....……………………………...……………Yellow Fourth Place…………………………………………….…......……………………..………White

Qualifying Score………………………………………………..……………...…..…Dark Green

A new title rosette will be awarded to all dog and handler teams finishing a title. A MACH, PACH or PAX rosette will be awarded to all dog and handler teams that attain either of these titles.

MOVE-UPS
