Term 3 Week 1 - Edition 7 Friday 24 July 2020
Principal’s Report
Welcome back to all of our families for term 3. After the
roller coaster of last term, we are hoping that this term
provides more stability and opportunities to continue with
the exciting business of teaching and learning. It has been
lovely catching back up with all of our students and hearing
how they and their families spent their break relaxing and
enjoying fun times.
Covid-19 School Guidelines
As I said in the message sent out via Flexischools and
Facebook earlier in the week, we are operating very
similarly to the end of last term. The full explanation for all
of the guidelines for families can be found at:
https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families
Basically ‘non-essential’ parent presence at school is still
not allowed, except for:
* Parents cooking for Wednesday lunches.
* Formalised Parent/teacher meetings (usually for
welfare reasons).
Whenever a parent or visitor attends school they need to
complete the appropriate form in the office.
At school we are all still adhering to handwashing and
sanitising protocols, as well as the need for students to
bring water bottles as opposed to drinking from the
bubbler.
Student drop offs in the mornings are still ‘kiss-and-drop,
and pick-ups in the afternoon will remain staggered
(K/1M@2:30pm, 2/3K@2:45pm and 4/5/6@3pm).
Importantly, if parents are going to be 15 minutes beyond
these pick-up times, we ask that they contact us to inform
us so that students are not sitting for extended periods in
the COLA after a tiring day of learning.
P&C AGM
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the P&C
AGM at the end of last term. A new Executive was elected
and congratulations must go to Brooke Udale - President,
Jo Anderson and Stacey Hilder - Vice Presidents, Karen
Nixon - Treasurer and Kate Field - Secretary.
A huge thank you must go to the outgoing executive who
put a lot of work and effort into our school and our
students. Our school is grateful for the work that Kathy,
Tania and Claire did.
Mark Your Calendar
This Calendar could change at any time, please keep checking Flexischools App and P&C Facebook Page for
Updates

Student Reports
By now, all of our families will have read and digested
their child’s Semester 1 report. We intend to facilitate
Parent/Teacher interviews as soon as we are able to,
to discuss these and plan for the continuation of each
student’s learning progress.
Music Program
Our excellent music program continues in term 3.
There are a few spaces for students to take up these
opportunities to learn keyboard, guitar or drums and
we are excited to be able to offer an opportunity for
students to learn vocals each Tuesday afternoon with
Miss Mayra.
Each of our music programs costs $70 per term per
instrument. Students new to the program can have a
free ‘taster’ lesson to see if they wish to take up the
opportunity. Information forms are available from the
office.
School Lunches
Notes went home this week asking for parents to
volunteer to cook each Wednesday. Please return
these to the office so that we can get organised for
this. A $40 subsidy for parents is available to off-set
the costs of ingredients each week.
Passion Projects
Mrs Field is busily preparing and organising our
‘Passion Projects; program for this term. We intend
(given current protocols) to begin this program for
weeks 3, 4 and 5 and then again in weeks 7, 8 and 9.
If you think you’d like to share some time with a small
group of our students for an hour on these Fridays
please contact Mrs Field to volunteer.
School Sport
Our school sport program continues each Friday with
Tennis games and activities being facilitated here at
school. We are very fortunate to have two local
coaches, Shannyn Ricketts and Amber Molloy, return
to our school for this terrific program.

Wednesday Canteen Lunch
We are once again asking for your participation in the Parents and Citi-
zens’ Association Fundraiser, the Wednesday Canteen Program for
Term 3. Home cooked meals by a parent or carer volunteer make a
wonderful change to the standard packed lunches.
The Program will run for 8 weeks in Term 3, beginning next week 29
July (Week 2) and the final week will be 16 September (Week 9). The
cost is $4.00 per week or you can pay for the whole term. Week’s 1
and 10 will be a Sausage Sizzle, which is free of charge for all students.
We still require Volunteers to cook and/or serve for 12, 19 and 26 Au-
gust and 9 September.
