Q1) What is Duckweed?

Ans. Duckweed or Lemna Minor is amongst the smallest of the flowering plants found worldwide. It is a perennial aquatic plant with 1-3 fronds or tiny leaves.

Q2) How can I differentiate blanket weed or Duckweed?

Ans. A pea-soup coloured pond is caused by tiny green planktonic algae in the water called blanket weed where as small floating-leaved species like duckweed.

Q3) How the duckweed develops in pond or lake?

Ans. Some ponds and lakes have rooted weeds growing in them. But due to deficiency of oxygen and excess of nutrients leads to growing of these weeds and cover the whole pond or lake within a week.

Q4) How to use NBS RASK?

Ans. Take 1:10 ratio and please dilute with tap water (not pond water) and add as a slurry, add to pond near pump outlet so the product is totally mixed into the water, circulate water for even mixing and distribution.

Please note the product will be effective only if it's properly mixed in the water.Do not sprinkle the product over the pond.

Q5) What will happen to duckweed after the product is added in the water. "It will sink or float on the water".?

Ans. After application of the product the duckweed simply dies off Which adds to the organic debris at the bottom of the pond or lake, which eventually biodegrades with time

Q6) What type of problems faced by my pond due to duckweed?

Ans. It reduces the oxygen level and leads to even fish death. Second, excessive nutrients create suffocation and fish can’t develop or grow. Third, it changes the pH of water. Fourth, pond become dirty or growth of algae.

Q7) My 30,000 litre pond is being cleaned right now by a specialist. We suffer from Duck weed (floating on top) which multiplies alarmingly. He tells me you sell a specialist duck weed treatment, please suggest me

Q8) How much the duckweed growth rate?

Ans. It has the highest growth rate in compare to any other plant. In ideal conditions, the surface area covered by duckweed can double in less than 2 days.

Q9) Why some may hate duckweed?

Ans. If conditions, temperatures and nutrient levels are completely offered, they grow quickly and covers the pond and chock out oxygen level and makes it unpleasant. It is difficult to survive for fish and other aquatic wildlife.

Q10) Do I need to turn off the UV at all whilst applying Rask?

Ans. You can keep your UV turn on while treating your pond with NBS RASK.

Q11) How can I use this product NBS RASK?

Ans. Product is to be used in two applications:a)1st Application: Use half of product (1 Pack)b) 2nd Application: If duckweed persists, then use the other half after 4 weeks (In most of the cases, the duckweed clears using

half (1st Application) of the product, but you can retreat after 4 weeks if necessary or store it as the shelf life of the product is up to 2 years)

Q12) Pond duckweed remover NBS Rask This looks like the ideal product - but will it harm the water lilies in my pond?

Ans. Product used at correct dilution is safe but as every pond is a complete eco-system in itself so sometimes the effectiveness of the product may vary or depend upon many environmental factors or water conditions Such as temperature,

sunlight etc. So if it effects aquatic plants and plants are showing signs of stress stop using the product.
