As I look back at the term gone by, it gives me a great deal of satisfaction and pride significantly so because the year 2016 will find a special place of mention in the history of Delhi School of Excellence, Manikonda, as ‘The year it got affiliated to the CBSE.’ The strength of D.S.E lies in its pragmatic approach. Our dreams take shape under the able and very efficient guidance of the management headed by the Chairman Sri. Madhusudan Rao Garu, Vice Chairperson Ms. Shilpa Ravi, Secretary Ms. Rama Devi, Academic Directors Ms. Shashikala and Ms. Jyothi Reddy. And, our dreams take wings under our qualified, experienced and student friendly faculty. ‘Musings’ our first News Letter for this session is a testimony to all our endeavors, as we collaborate and work towards building a sustaining and conducive atmosphere that nurtures learning. It has been rightly said, ‘What we learn with pleasure we never forget’. I wish you all a happy reading!! S. Hemalatha Principal Delhi School of Excellence Manikonda
Parents represent a vast talent pool from which we would like to draw on for better
understanding of the system from the outside. Parental inclusion and involvement in
school life is an incredibly important part of building a positive school culture. Keeping
this aspect in mind, a Parent Orientation program to orient parents on the principles
followed at DSE along with the concept of CCE was held for all the grades.
Furthermore, a Class Connect programme that aims at a focused discussion on
classroom transactions by voicing the parents’ concerns, suggestions and
appreciations, was initiated. Specific dates and time slots were allotted class wise, so
that limited number of parents and their concerns be heard. As a follow up to this
program, a synopsis of the issues raised and the action taken was sent to all the
parents.
HAPPENINGS
KID KNOW SHOW One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the option to explore different
activities, subjects, sports, hobbies, people, and art. This talent Show facilitated
the parents and students to bring out their skills and talents.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
The 5th Investiture Ceremony was celebrated to inculcate leadership qualities amongst the students. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and gusto. The chief guest Smt Chandana Chakrabarti addressed the gathering and urged the students to be good followers. She encouraged them to set examples for others with their conduct and appreciated everyone for working unitedly towards making the event a success.
DESAFIO
School is a place where seeds of creativity and imagination are sowed and nurtured with care. Keeping this view in mind, a blend of cultural and art competitions were planned to bring out the oratory, artistic and creative skills of the participants who came from different schools of the city.
BLOOMING BUDS
Pre-primary education is considered to be very important for the child as it is the first step towards entering the world of knowledge as well as a healthy and purposeful life. Pre-primary education helps children become more independent and confident as well as promote the all-round development of the children. At DSE, the PP wing is ever bubbling with activities, events and celebrations which form an integral part of their learning and development process. A wide range of activities are planned and executed to monitor the developmental milestones.
OUTINGS WITH A PURPOSE
Enriching field trips contribute to the development of students into civilized young men and women. They expose students to new experiences and increase interest and involvement in the subjects. Field trips give opportunity for students to get out of the classroom and experience something new. We believe that taking students on a field trip makes learning more effective as they will be able to gain vast ideas on the topic. These outings motivate students through increased interest and curiosity. It’s a known fact that Field trips add variety to the regular classroom instructional program and they prove to be special and enjoyable learning experiences. As a result, students develop a positive attitude towards learning.
SHARING AND CARING
DSE believes in living for a cause. True to its vision, social responsibilities are an integral part of this organization. We believe in showing our concern for everything, passionately- be it concern for the underprivileged or aged. It is also our belief that the sense of responsibility starts early. Sense of charity, generosity and sharing are all values that need to be taught at a very young age. Many activities were taken up across all grades to inculcate the value of Sharing and Caring. “If you have the Power to make someone happy, do it. The world needs more of it.”
COMPETITIONS
‘While most are dreaming of success, winners wake-up and work hard to achieve it.’ Competitions tend to bring out the best in everyone. If there were no competitions to bring out the best in us, no one would succeed in life. All people would be at the same level. There would be no such word as "best.” We would not progress. To instill the spirit of competition and sportsmanship amongst our students, diverse competitions are held. These help to mould and develop their talents and skills.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Apart from the regular competitions that are held within the school, DSEians are
making a mark for themselves by winning laurels in external competitions as well.
Students are encouraged to take part in Inter – School Competitions. We believe that
participation itself is a big achievement.

WORK EDUCATION & CLUBS
Work Education provides the basis for building up proper attitudes towards work, thereby developing favorable work values and habits, imparting necessary knowledge which can help the children to become productive and self-reliant. Clubs provide students with many positive experiences that help them to become well-rounded individuals who are ready for college. Students who are active in clubs are more likely to be successful in school. DSE facilitates such an avenue for the students to explore their interests and recognize their aptitude by providing them with a wide array of activities to choose from.
