HARSCO PLATINUM® 100 overview

HARSCO PLATINUM 100 is the new crane-dependent wall formwork system from Harsco Infrastructure. It is ideal for the fast and cost-effective shuttering of wall surfaces of all kinds. HARSCO PLATINUM 100 helps to cut costs considerably while achieving the highest standards of quality.

Lower costs

HARSCO PLATINUM® 100 generates appreciably lower labor and life-cycle costs than traditional formwork systems. Many factors contribute to this, including panel height. Users know that there is a growing trend in buildings to greater room heights, as utility installations are often concealed behind suspended ceilings and beneath floors. HARSCO PLATINUM 100 has responded to this trend by allowing standard story heights to be shuttered without height extension. When forming up to a height of 3.6 m, the extremely robust design and the innovative tying technology require 30 percent fewer ties than usual—a genuine milestone in reducing labor costs.

The design of PLATINUM P100 ties means they can be operated by a single person as opposed to conventional 2-man operation. And that is not all: For wall thicknesses of 15-42.5 cm, only a single tie system is necessary. This means it is no longer necessary to keep different accessory parts available on site, and no time is wasted searching for missing parts. Since, additionally, the wall thickness can be pre-set at the tie and because the tie is tapered, expendable parts like tubes have been rendered superfluous.

On the bottom line, all these positive features mean that, per tying operation, the customer saves about 9 minutes of working time by using HARSCO PLATINUM 100.

Cost-effective throughout its life cycle

The PLATINUM wedge aligning clamp is permanently secured at the element. This means there are no losable parts that have to be replaced at extra cost. The full plastic form lining is so hard-wearing that it never needs to be changed if treated correctly. A special feature of HARSCO PLATINUM® 100 is its four RFID chips as standard. Stored in them is a serial number that can be scanned with a handheld. Assuming integration in the owner’s ERP system, this chip simplifies inventory management. At the same time, RFID supports financing by leasing, as the panels can be unambiguously assigned to their respective owners.

Thanks to the use of durable materials and the high standard of workmanship, not only the labor costs, but also the life-cycle costs of HARSCO PLATINUM 100 are roughly 25 percent lower than those of traditional wall formwork systems.

Its new tie technology, simplified logistics, much lower cleaning and repair expense, and the high rate of re-use of the various components contribute to the high cost-effective-ness of the formwork over its entire service life and at the same time provides high quality and safety.

A high quality concrete finish in fair face concrete quality is a matter of course for HARSCO PLATINUM® 100. This is possible thanks to the ECOPLUS full plastic form lining. It comes as a single unit—there are no internal joints even on the 240 x 360 cm panel. The form lining is so hard-wearing that repairs are not necessary, given correct treatment. We are therefore issuing a guarantee for the technical features of the lining when used properly for the formwork’s entire life cycle.

The position of the PLATINUM P100 tie holes and the panel geo-metries make a neat tying and joint grid possible, whether the panels are used upright or on their sides.

Enhanced safety

Just how safe a formwork system is depends essentially on how safely the concrete can be placed. HARSCO PLATINUM® 100 therefore comes with an integrated platform system on which work can be performed in safety and in comfort. The integrated connectors also contribute to enhanced safety, as the likelihood of tripping over loose parts and the associated injury has been significantly reduced.

The formwork’s high pressure resistance of 100 kN/m2 throughout the system also enhances safety. It eliminates possible user error, by excluding the risk of the formwork opening due to excessively rapid placement up to heights of 3.60 m.

Well equipped for every eventuality

HARSCO PLATINUM® 100 is the ideal wall formwork system for any application. Fair-face concrete and large as well as uniform wall surfaces as well as intricate geometries, columns and corners can be shuttered effortlessly with this system.

Right-angled outer corners are accurately created with the aid of multipurpose panels. For the inner corners there are special elements that can be equipped with a stripping aid. Simply turning the stiffeners reduces the 90° angle by 2° in the inner corner so that the formwork comes away with ease.

The multipurpose panels are also effective as pilaster formwork and column formwork. They permit the simple and rapid pouring of columns up to 90 x 90 x 360 cm. For columns of a larger diameter, resort is made to the standard range of panels.
