Since then, all further development, maintenance, and new functional development has been done exclusively in the APO environment. Deployment available in R/3 only covers specific, simple scenarios. It is no longer possible to make functional enhancements within the R/3 environment. The functions listed below are either not available or are available in a restricted form within the scope of R/3 deployment: o Rounding down of deployment stock transfer orders - This is only possible when using the dynamic rounding profile, which can only be used with an IS-RETAIL system o Use of Customizing settings for the DRP network (for example, for excluding specific destinatination locations from deployment distribution) o IMG node 'Stage materials according to ATD logic' is not functional. o It is not possible to run deployment for stock transport requisitions in an alternative unit of measure to the one maintained in the material master. Deployment uses the quantities from the stock transport requisitions for its calculations but provides the results in the unit of measure from the material master without converting the quantities. o The document type 'NB' is always used. NB is a component of the source code. The document type 'UB' is used exclusively for cross-company locations. Entries in table T161W are not taken into account o It is not possible to create partial deliveries or deliveries with a zero quantity on stock transfer orders that are generated by deployment. The reason for this is that the field 'EKPO-KZTLF' is filled with the value 'A'. o Because of the basic design, there is no connection between a deployment stock transfer order and the source stock transport requisition. Creation of stock transfer orders and deletion or reduction of the the stock transport requisition by deployment are processes that run independently of each other. This may cause the following to occur: - A stock transfer order is created, although it is not possible to delete or reduce the source stock transport requisition. - A stock transport requisition can be deleted or reduced, although it is not possible to generate a deployment stock transfer order.

SAP Note 441237 - Notes for using deployment in R/3

Note Language: English Version: 1 Validity: Valid Since 09.10.2001

Summary

SymptomA few years ago, all of the DRP and deployment functions from R/3 becamepart of the SAP Advanced Planner and Opimizer. Since then, all furtherdevelopment, maintenance, and new functional development has been doneexclusively in the APO environment.Deployment available in R/3 only covers specific, simple scenarios. It isno longer possible to make functional enhancements within the R/3environment.The functions listed below are either not available or are available in arestricted form within the scope of R/3 deployment:

o Rounding down of deployment stock transfer orders - This is onlypossible when using the dynamic rounding profile, which can only beused with an IS-RETAIL system

o Use of Customizing settings for the DRP network (for example, forexcluding specific destinatination locations from deploymentdistribution)

o IMG node 'Stage materials according to ATD logic' is notfunctional.

o It is not possible to run deployment for stock transportrequisitions in an alternative unit of measure to the onemaintained in the material master. Deployment uses the quantitiesfrom the stock transport requisitions for its calculations butprovides the results in the unit of measure from the materialmaster without converting the quantities.

o The document type 'NB' is always used. NB is a component of thesource code. The document type 'UB' is used exclusively forcross-company locations. Entries in table T161W are not taken intoaccount

o It is not possible to create partial deliveries or deliveries witha zero quantity on stock transfer orders that are generated bydeployment. The reason for this is that the field 'EKPO-KZTLF' isfilled with the value 'A'.

o Because of the basic design, there is no connection between adeployment stock transfer order and the source stock transportrequisition. Creation of stock transfer orders and deletion orreduction of the the stock transport requisition by deployment areprocesses that run independently of each other. This may cause thefollowing to occur:

- A stock transfer order is created, although it is not possibleto delete or reduce the source stock transport requisition.

- A stock transport requisition can be deleted or reduced, although it is not possible to generate a deployment stocktransfer order.

SAP Note 441237 - Notes for using deployment in R/3

o Rounding profiles and minimum and maximum lot sizes are not takeninto account

o In certain circumstances, use of fair-share B can lead to errors

o Infostructure S075 is always used by deployment. This is notdependent on Customizing settings. You are not allowed to changethe settings in the infostructure.

o When creating stock transfer orders, use of a planned delivery timefrom an info-record causes errors in the scheduling.

Cause and prerequisites

SolutionWhen testing or using R/3 deployment, note the restrictions that are listedabove. A much more advanced deployment functionality exists in APO as partof the SAP SCM Solution. Before using the R/3 functions for distribution requirements planning, please discuss using APO with your SAP consultant or your SAP contactperson.
