--Well-known personalities like Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley have lost their lives at an early age due the excess intake of various drugs.

--Drinks, Drugs and Discos(the 3 D's) has been a large part of society for many years.

--It is something that people take or visit to change the way they feel, think or behave.

--People consume drugs, alcohol and visit discos for a lot of reasons.

--Drug use, and dependence are not always related to low self-esteem or family problems. Alcohol or drug use can happen in any family, regardless of how

close you are.

--Alcohol and drug use not only impair a person's ability to function now, it can have long-range negative effects on a person's health and well-being.

Drugs are chemical substances thataffect the central nervous system, such as opioids or hallucinogens.

May be used for perceived beneficial effects on perception,consciousness, personality, and behavior.

Some drugs can cause addiction and/or habituation.

Recreational Drugs Recreational drugs use is the

use of psychoactive substances to have fun, for the

experience, or to enhance an already positive experience.

Many recreational drugs are legal, widely culturally

accepted, and at the most have an age restriction on

using and/or purchasing them. Examples: alcohol, tobacco,

betel nut, and caffeine products in thewest, Khat are

common.

Illegal Drugs

When people talk about a "drug problem," they usually mean abusing legal drugs or using illegal drugs, such as : marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, crystal meth, and heroin.

Ecstasy drugs in discos and pubs: MDMA, known as Ecstasy, is a chemical that is usually taken orally as a capsule or tablet.

It is a man-made drug that is chemically similar to both stimulants and hallucinogens.

Refers to a drug that can be used to assist in the execution of a sexual assault, such as date rape.

Can be added to a food or drink without the victim's knowledge.

The act of adding such substances to drinks is known as "drink spiking".

The reasons for drink spiking range from personal amusement or maliciousness to theft or sexual assault.

as an aerosol or dry powder. (Thisincludes smoking a substance) Injected as a solution, suspension

or emulsion either: intramuscular, Insufflation, or snorted into the

nose. Orally, as a liquid or solid, that is

absorbed through the intestines. Rectally as a suppository, that is

absorbed by the rectum or colon. Sublingually, diffusing into the

blood through tissues under the tongue.
