Drew University, founded in 1867, is afully accredited independent institutionof higher learning, which offers pro-

SUMMER TERM AT DREW

The courses are intended for college, gradu-ate, and seminary students who wish to take additional work during the summer, advanced high school students seeking college credit and experience, and personsdesiring academic refresher and enrichmentopportunities. Visiting students from othercolleges and universities are most welcometo take summer courses at Drew.

ENROLLMENT LIMITATIONS

Students are not permitted to enroll in morethan two courses per session.

CHANGES IN REGISTRATION

ANY CHANGES IN REGISTRATION MUST BE FILED IN WRITING IN PERSON OR VIAE-MAIL (Regist@drew.edu) AT THE OFFICEOF THE REGISTRAR. Selection of the Pass/Unsatisfactory option, audit status, or anycourse changes are not official until the student has completed the required proce-dures of the Office of the Registrar. NON-ATTENDANCE does not constitute an officialwithdrawal; failure to fulfill the withdrawalprocedures will leave the student responsi-ble for full tuition payment, and with a gradeof F for the course.

A course may be entered until the sixth classhour with the approval of the instructor.

A four-week course dropped after the sixthhour of class but before the end of the sec-ond week is recorded on the transcript witha grade of W (withdrawal); if dropped aftertwo weeks, an F is recorded.

A five-week course dropped after the sixthhour of class but before the end of 2.5weeks is recorded on the transcript with agrade of W (withdrawal). If it is dropped after2.5 weeks it is recorded with a grade of F.

A six-week course dropped after the sixthhour of the class but before the end of thethird week is recorded on the transcript witha grade of W (withdrawal). If it is droppedafter the third week, a grade of F, isrecorded.

TRANSCRIPTS

The permanent records of students who areenrolled for credit are maintained in the Of-fice of the Registrar. Summer course creditsand grades for students who are matricu-lated at Drew are automatically added totheir academic record. For visiting students,transcripts will be mailed to another institu-tion upon written request of the student. Formore information on requesting a transcript,visit: drew.edu/transcriptrequest. There is aone-time only transcript fee of $25 chargedto all students taking courses for credit. Forassistance with a transcript request, call theOffice of the Registrar, 973.408.3025.

BILLING AND REFUNDS

PAPERLESS BILLING

Please note that paper billing statements forsummer tuition and fees are not mailed to astudent’s home address. An e-mail notifica-tion will be sent to the student’s Drew emailaddress when the summer billing statementis available in pdf format on Campus Web(campusweb.drew.edu). Students can checktheir most current account status by logginginto Campus Web and clicking “Billing” onthe left side menu. PAYMENT PROCEDURES

Drew University has partnered with TuitionManagement Systems (TMS) to allow stu-dents to make payments toward their stu-dent account using American Express,Discover, and MasterCard. At this time, Visadoes NOT participate in this program. A con-venience fee will be charged by the serviceto the cardholder. TMS also offers the optionof making payment directly from your check-ing or statement savings account as well viaACH transaction.

To use this service, please have available thestudent’s social security or Drew UniversityID number and the total billing amount, aswell as the credit card or bank account information that is to be used.

Payments can be made through TMSthrough one of two methods:

REFUND POLICY

The $25 registration fee is nonrefundable except when the University cancels acourse.

Students who withdraw after registering andbefore the end of the day (midnight) of thesecond scheduled meeting of the course receive a full refund (not including the registration fee). Those who withdraw beforethe end of the first week receive a 50 percenttuition refund. Refunds are not granted afterthe first week of class, and no exceptionsare made.

Course withdrawals must be filed in writingwith the Office of the Registrar and becomeofficial as of the date received.

SUMMER INTENSIVE CLASSES REFUNDCALENDAR: For classes that do not meetin standard 4- or 6-week sessions

Students who withdraw after registering butbefore the first meeting of the course receivea full refund. Students who withdraw beforethe second full day of the course receive a50% tuition refund. Students who withdrawafter the second full day of the course receive no refund.

COURSE CANCELLATIONS

The University reserves the right to cancelcourses with insufficient enrollment. Stu-dents enrolled in courses with less than theminimum number of students will be notifiedtwo weeks prior to the beginning of class.Students registered for a canceled coursemay transfer to another course or receive afull tuition refund. DISABILITY SERVICES

The Office of Educational Services deter-mines eligibility for services, provides verifi-cation of disabilities, and specifies neededaccommodations to university staff and faculty. All students with documented dis-abilities are encouraged to register with theOffice of Educational Services as soon aspossible. Services cannot be provided untilstudents officially register and documenta-tion meeting University standards is submit-ted and approved. There are no retroactiveaccommodations.

DREW NETWORK/EMAIL ACCOUNTS

Visiting summer students at Drew receivenetwork accounts which provide access to aDrew email account, Campus Web (Drew’sstudent information portal) and a personalnetwork drive. Use of these electronic re-sources is required for all summer courses.Network account information is sent elec-tronically upon registration to the email ad-dress provided on the registration form.Network account information can also beobtained by visiting the Computing and Net-work Services Help Desk in the basement ofBrothers College during business hours. ADrew ID card is required for assistance withpersonal network account information.

HOUSING

On-campus housing is available during thesummer. Please call the Housing, Confer-ences, and Hospitality Office, 973.408.3681,for information.

UNIVERSITY COMMONS: DINING HALL AND BOOKSTORE

The University Commons is home to thebookstore and the campus dining hall, bothof which are available to students who areon campus during summer term. The dininghall is open 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., serving dailyspecials, grill items, pizza, deli sandwiches,salads, and gourmet coffee.

The Drew bookstore is open from 9 a.m. –5 p.m., Monday through Friday, during sum-mer. Students are also strongly encouragedto purchase their textbooks through Folletton-line: drew.bkstr.com. Books purchasedon-line can be picked-up at the bookstoreduring regular business hours.

SUMMER I.D. CARDS AND PARKING

Students new to Drew who have registeredand paid all fees may obtain summer I.D.cards at the business office. I.D. cards arenecessary to borrow library books and togain access to the facilities at Simon Forum.

Parking permits are required for studentsparking on campus and may be obtained atPepin Services Center at the cost of $25.Academic year stickers are valid through thesummer.

RECREATION

The William E. and Carol G. Simon Forumhouses a 200-meter indoor track, an eight-lane NCAA pool, basketball, squash, andracquetball courts and exercise, weight, anddance rooms. Summer students are encour-aged to use these facilities.
