Social Emotional Learning We continue to start our days with SEL lessons at Bentley as do other elementary schools throughout P-CCS. At Bentley, we are focusing on a common understanding of “Stop-Name Your Feeling-Calm Down” to help with self-regulation of emotions. Below is a home link to provide more information on how we are supporting students when they experience strong feelings at school. You may find that using this language at home can also be helpful. There is also a link to a video that you may choose to watch with your child(ren) about the importance of naming feelings. Stop-Name Your Feeling-Calm Down Video: Why It’s Important to Name Your Feeling Dressing for the Weather Please see the district guidelines below regarding outdoor recess. As it begins to get colder outside, it is important that students have appropriate outdoor clothing so that they can fully enjoy recess. Outdoor Weather Students go outside for recess twice a day, even during the winter months. We use the following guidelines to determine when it is safe for students to be outside. To make this determination, we use the "feels like" temperature (wind chill) as reported by the National Weather Service. Please make sure your child is prepared with the necessary outerwear. ■ December - March: Bring boots and shoes dailyStudents who do not wear snow pants and boots will not be able to play in the snow.Students who do not bring boots will still go outdoors, but are expected to stay on the blacktop.

If you do not currently have snow boots or snow pants for your child, please email, send a note or call the o�ce.We have several donated boots and snow pants to give to you. We also have some access to funds to purchasenew items, should you need that extra support at this time of year.

Conferences & Half-Days on November 17th & 18thStudents will have half-days on November 17th and 18th due to conferences. Conferences will be heldover Zoom this year. Teachers will be sending information on how to schedule an appointment nolater than November 1st.

District NewsIn-Person/Virtual Academy Enrollment InformationP-CCS elementary (Kindergarten through 5th grade) families have the opportunity toselect the learning experience they prefer for their student(s) for the remainder of the2021-22 school year. Elementary families will have until Wednesday, November 10 at11:59 p.m. to make their selection. We are asking that ONLY families wishing a changecomplete the form. This switch will change your child’s teacher.

Beginning Wednesday, December 1, P-CCS secondary (6th through 12th grade) familieswill have the opportunity to select the learning experience they prefer for their student(s)for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. This will be the only opportunity to changeplacement for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year.

Elementary families that want to change from in-person to the Virtual Academy cancomplete this enrollment form (direct URL: https://forms.gle/1uz3VCfRNDyLpB8UA). Youwill receive a confirmation email after you submit the form.

Elementary families that are currently attending the elementary Virtual Academy willreceive a personal communication with the link from the elementary Virtual Academycoordinator. The secondary link will be made available on December 1, 2021.

Co-President position also. These two positions are key to our school beingeven more successful. 5 Below fundraiser: We have signed up Bentley for a fundraiser through5 below for the week of December 6th-12th. Any purchases done during thatweek, 5 Below will donate a portion to Bentley. Need gifts for charity, orstocking stuffers for the holidays, do your shopping during that week and helpBentley out in a big way. When at the register just mention you are shoppingfor Bentley Elementary. A flyer will be going home closer to the start date!

Save the Date for our next Restaurant Night fundraiser:You will need to mention and show the following flyer, either a hard copy orphoto on your phone. We will be sending one home with your student acouple days prior.

Community Outreach for Bentley: Passive Fundraising We could useyour help. You can now help Bentley in the easiest way possible. A few onlinestores and some stores around town offer donations to Bentley through yournormal purchases. It's really easy to enroll Bentley asyour community outreach!
