MEDIA ARTS PROGRAM AT SONOMA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL • Launched in 2002, by SIFF, this great program continues to churn out the next generation of
filmmakers, digital artists and broadcasting professionals. • Under direction of Peter Hansen with state-of-the-art equipment provided by SIFF, the media lab
is known as one of the best High School media programs California • Each year, over four months of weekend and after school workshops, students create
approximately 15 brilliant short films which are screened to packed houses during the SIFF. • Dozens of students go on to enroll in top film schools (UCLA, USC, SF State, CCA ) and pursue
careers in the film and media industry. Many return to SIFF to premiere their films. • SIFF is also proud to award $5,000 each year to interns and film scholarship recipients.

MIDDLE SCHOOL WORKSHOPS AT THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF SONOMA • In addition to High School programs, SIFF conducts weekend video workshops for local middle
school students, introducing underserved kids to careers and courses of study in film. • Workshop Instructors are often graduates of the High School media arts program. • A partnership with The Intel Club House provides facilities and use of equipment year round.
With addition of La Quinceañera Festival in 2012 and expanded commitment to our Latino community, we are exploring ways to bring filmmaking to students in all middle schools and even grammar school.
