the fight against ISIS. Our students displayed their remarkable
diplomatic, debating and negotiating skills, in an attempt to uphold the
goals of the United Nations. A total of 16 students participated in the

Lala Lajpat Rai, the ‘Lion of Punjab’, continues to inspire the students of Modern
School and bring out the best in them. The Biennial Lajpat House function was
held on 3rd May, 2019. The exhibition’s theme was ‘The Galaxy- A Dimension of
the Unknown’. The function commenced in the HLL Auditorium. The occasion
was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr Bharat Sharma, Director, Bhoomika Creative
Dance Centre, accompanied by the Principal, Dr Vijay Datta. After the lighting of
the ceremonial lamp, Kavya Aggarwal (S6-G) performed a graceful Vandana to
invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. This was followed by a foot tapping
performance by the House orchestra accompanied by rhythmic yoga which was
performed by Saumya Panwar (S6-B). The House Ballet was a tribute to the role
of grandparents in the current times. The next performance was a western
mash-up by a talented pianist and singer duo, Disha Aggarwal (S7- B) and Ira
Agrawal (S4-A). The hall echoing with melodies was soon replaced by fits of
laughter as the members of Lajpat House represented ‘Kaamchor’, an
adaptation of a short story written by Ismat Chughtai. The atmosphere became
tranquil with a reverberating patriotic song ‘Ae Watan’ sung by the House led by
Aditya Pathak (S7-C). The members of the house were appreciated immensely
by the Chief Guest and the Principal.
