Secretary’s Report – Angela R. Nale - April minutes were handed out. - Changed line is city report: “37 acres of old prison area were conveyed to the city” to “37 acres of old prison area are proposed to be conveyed to the city”. - Changed line in Britt Smith report: “Will overlay McCarty, Truman to Lafayette with crosswalk improvement” to “Will overlay McCarty, Truman Building to Lafayette with crosswalk improvement.” - Donna Deetz made a motion to approve April minutes with changes. Carlos Graham seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Treasurer’s Report – Leah Toebben (absent) presented by Crystal Tellman Reviewed the Profit and Loss Sheet for April. - Frank Rycyk made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as written for April. Ashley Varner seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Downtown Jefferson City Inc. $18,588.26 Money Market $17,455.47 Pay Pal Account $7,009.13 Snow Removal $7,966.15 HB CD $20,072.83 $71,091.84 Vice President’s Report: Sheila Smith (absent) given by Crystal Tellman Looking for auction items for the event. Tickets go on sale June 9. Save the date is going out this week. Last year’s proceeds went to buying the downtown tents.

Welcome & Introduction – Crystal Tellman- Welcomed everyone and went around the room introducing all in attendance.

Secretary’s Report – Angela R. Nale- April minutes were handed out.- Changed line is city report: “37 acres of old prison area were conveyed to the city” to “37acres of old prison area are proposed to be conveyed to the city”.- Changed line in Britt Smith report: “Will overlay McCarty, Truman to Lafayette with

Will be able to purchase you “all in” this year when you purchase your tickets online.

President’s Report: Crystal Tellman Sold 330 tickets to Hidden Spaces. The trolleys were full and people were walking all the way to the fire museum.

Standing Committee Reports Advertising Committee: Lindsay Huhman (absent)

o Magnets were handed out only a few left. Membership Committee: Tricia Workman (absent)

o Membership dues will be mailed in June. Economic Enhancement: Jill Bednar (absent)

o No report.

Event Committee Reports Local Foods Local Places-Ken Luebbering (absent)

o Saturday farmers markets will be downtown in the 300 block of high st all summer.

o Looking for Corporate Sponsors to help with a match program for food stamp customers.

Community Reports City of Jefferson M ayor & Council-Carrie Tergin, Steve Crowell, Carlos Graham

o The MSP project has passed the house and senate. Now waiting on for theGovernor to sign. Once he signs, the City will have a portion of the site.

o There has been great support for this project.o Will discuss details at the Friday Coffee at 7:30am at the Chamber.o Will be announcing the main act for the Prison Concert Wednesday May

10th.o Uber and Lift are no live and running in Jefferson City.o Capital Ave project is moving along.o The City has won one battle with the Beuscher properties, though the

housing issue is still going on.o The Riverfront development is moving along. The next step is

fundraising.o The fire Station 2 is in discussion with the city for the remodel and new

trucks.o May 22 will be a work session with demolition issues being discussed. o The Council considering storm water issues for the next election with a

storm water tax.o Visit the council website for details.

City of Jefferson, Staff - Britt Smith o Overlay starts this month with a large part of downtown.o Tree removal has started on Capital.o Stadium/Jefferson project will start back up as soon as school is out. o Detours will be “fun”.o All roads will be open for July 4 and during the eclipse events.

Jefferson City Parks & Recreation -Phil Stiles o Kidsfest is June 3 and Bass Pro will be there again this year.o Mighty machines will have their event at the mall on May 13.o Pools will open the end of May.o The eclipse events are moving along nicely.

Cole County- John Wheeler o If you are going to be out of town on vacation feel free to call the

Sherriff’s office and be put on a “watch list” and they will keep an eye on your home.

o Participated in the RACS event downtown. There was a misunderstandingwith the street closing. But fixed it as soon as we could. Raised around $30,000 with the event.

Missouri River Regional Library –Claudia Schoonovero The library has many events on the calendar: please visit www.mrrl.org to

see events. Lincoln University- Willie Jude

o Commencement is on the 13th with over 400 graduating.o The gala was a success with over $105,000 raised. It was the most

successful.o Casino night is August 12.o Golf tournament is June 5.o Having an ice cream social on Thursday for the students to say good-bye

to Dr. Rome.o Dr. Rome will be the commencement speaker at graduation.

Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce -Randy Allen o Helping work on the MSP and Riverfront projects.o Concentrating on workforce with four task forces working on it.o Had a job fair at JCHS with 53 employers at the fair.o There has been some confusion about the Riverport: it is a commercial

barge loading and unloading port. Salute to America

Prison Concert will be announced on May 10 with all the other music announced on June 1.

Closing Statements – Crystal Tellman Will have the 2017-18 budget and board slate at next month’s meeting.
