WP6 Introduction

An effective communication and dissemination strategy that facilitates engagement with appropriate stakeholders will be crucial to the success of the JP initiative.

The aims of this work package are:

• To design and implement an awareness, dissemination and involvement strategy to maintain public relations with different key stakeholders in the various countries involved in the JPICH and across the European Union

• To develop an optimum processes for engagement with stakeholders

• To facilitate knowledge brokering between appropriate stakeholder groups

• To coordinate large-scale networks

The activities relating to this WP are only for external communication.

The work package will be executed in the following steps:

• Identify appropriate stakeholders

• Develop a plan that allows an effective two way communication with stakeholders

• Execute the communication plan using best practice tools and processes, and support the communications strategy in participating Member States

• D6.1) Strategic communication and dissemination Plan (m 12) [month 12]

Task 6.1: Identification of key Stakeholders

• Identification, in close cooperation with the Executive Board and the

Advisory Board, of groups of stakeholders within participating Member States, Associated Countries, Fast Growing Countries (BRICS), Neighbourhood Mediterranean Countries, Advanced Economies and UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

• Stakeholders may include, for example: researchers, industries, professionals, government officials, research associations, cultural heritage funders but also European initiatives, networks, observatories and projects such as NET HERITAGE, Digital Cultural Heritage Network, Technology Platforms etc.

• All other beneficiaries and associated participants will be consulted during identification of stakeholders

Task 6.2: Develop plan for engagement with stakeholders

• Following task 6.1 a communication and dissemination strategy will be prepared for engagement with the different groups (what, how, when) and updated annually. Information and communication with key stakeholders

• Methods for communication will include the public website www.heritageportal.eu, where stakeholders can access information of interest to them, and which can be used by the JP CH participants.

• The web portal shall enable centralised access to public information and enable all interested stakeholders and the public to have simple, transparent and deep insight into the co-ordination processes, co-ordination results, important public events, public position papers, etc.

• High-quality information material, design presentations, brochures to enhance public outreach of the project and JPI will be used. The NetWatch platform will be used to link with the JHEP web site.

Task 6.3 Execute plan for engagement with

stakeholders

• The plan will be executed by the WP6 leader according to the plan

agreed by the EB and Advisor Board. WP1 personnel will assist with

sending information to stakeholder groups and collating responses

when necessary.

• The person employed in WP6 will also act as a resource to help

facilitate events in participating Member States and Associated

Countries. This will be especially important where MS and AC do

not already have a national programme.

• Contact will be made with the European Parliament and incoming

EU Council Presidencies with a view to arranging one or more

events with the European Parliament and the best arrangement for

disseminating information in collaboration with the Presidencies.

• Job specification for Project Manager with the Heritage Council now online at www.heritageportal.eu/ - closing date 11/11/11

• Contract extension to heritageportal.eu editor Julie Clayton

• Ongoing development of heritageportal.eu website as JPICH website

• Development of technical support and hosting arrangements for website
