Club celebrates 40th anniversaryBY PAT LODGE

A VILLAGE organisation is celebrating its40th anniversary with a dinner at theTalbot Inn, Staincross.

Ardsley Women’s Club held its firstmeeting in October, 1968, and is stillgoing strong, maintaining its averagemembership of 36.

The group, affiliated to the NationalAssociation of Women’s Clubs, hasraised money for various charitiesthrough the years by having market

stalls and staging carol concerts as wellas other events and was involved withArdsley village gala until its demise.

Secretary Pat Pickering said: “Beingbased in a village we feel we have donewell to hold our membership over theyears to an average of 36. We are afriendly bunch and have lots of happymemories.”

The club is always seeking new mem-bers who are invited to attend meetingsin the Ardsley Community Centre everyThursday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
