Ardsley Women’s Club held its first meeting in October, 1968, and is still going strong, maintaining its average membership of 36. The group, affiliated to the National Association of Women’s Clubs, has raised money for various charities through the years by having market stalls and staging carol concerts as well as other events and was involved with Ardsley village gala until its demise. Secretary Pat Pickering said: “Being based in a village we feel we have done well to hold our membership over the years to an average of 36. We are a friendly bunch and have lots of happy memories.” The club is always seeking new mem- bers who are invited to attend meetings in the Ardsley Community Centre every Thursday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
