Welcome back members, and to those new members, we hope this is the first of many lasting summers for you here. The Hamilton

Lakes Board of Directors and the staff have been hard at work con-tinuing to make new improvements with you in mind.

Based on some of your responses to our 2015 survey, we have implemented a few of your requests –

Pool Opens May 27th at 6 pm with a Potluck dinner. The club will provide the main dish, members are

asked to bring a side dish to share.

• New dining tables have been added in the café area making seating more comfortable. More will be added if we find the use heavy.

• We’ve added additional sand chairs for socializing and we continue to re-strap lounge chairs.

• We’ve added a children’s swim lap line for those under age 16 in the main pool just before the diving well. This will be moni-tored by the lifeguard seated in the deep end chair.

• Swimming will be allowed in the diving well provided no one is on the diving stand. Lifeguards will clear the diving well area if someone is waiting to dive.

• Larger TV for the clubhouse – 75”.

• Two new Ping Pong Tables.

• The interior of the Pro Shop has a face lift, take a look! New bistro tables/chairs and fans were added under the pergola.

• Hamilton Lakes Tennis will be one of the clubs hosting the Senior State Championships on May 19-23.

• Hamilton Lakes Tennis will host a USTA NCL4 Junior tennis tournament on June 10-12.

Hamilton Lakes Hornets...Hornets are gearing up for another fun and exciting swim season! First practice in the HL pool will be Monday, May 16th @ 4:30 pm. Time trials on May 22nd and the Black and Gold Meet will be held Saturday June 4th, times TBA. We are also excited to announce a welcome reception for new members, new swim team members and guests to learn more about all of the activities available at the club. There will be board members and committee reps available to answer questions about swim team, tennis, the cafe and pools. Welcome Reception will be Sunday, May 22nd from 4-5:30, open house style.

Float Night begins June 3rd. A very fun night indeed but safety is important to us. A lifeguard will be stationed at the shallow end on Float Night to ensure safety of the very young. There is to be no kick boards,squirt guns, or rough play. Squirt guns on the floats themselvesare not allowed and should be disabled.

Lifeguard In service training dates, June 23rd, July 14th and August 4th at 8 pm. Members are welcome to stay for these training sessions and learn how our lifeguards train for safety at the pool.

The Group Swim Lesson Program Classes begin the week of June 16th. Please call the club to register for a session.

Large Umbrella Reservation: for any event, is a $25 charge. This can be paid at time of making the reservation. Guests are always welcome to party events and we are able to keep a separate sign-up sheet for you to make the guest payments. After-Hours Swim Parties can be planned. Please see Jean Eagan for details.

Guest Fees are $5 pp and a guest book of 5 passes can be purchased at the front desk for $20.

Summer Ladies Gate City LeagueWe will once again have a team in each division for this league. The A team is made up of 4.0 and up players, Yvonne Singh will be Captain. The B Team is made up of 3.5 and below, Karen Rolandelli will be the Captain. This league starts in late June and runs through the summer. Plays Wednesday nights with matches starting at 6:30.

Men’s Interclub will be made up of two teams, one 3.0-3.5 team and one 4.0-4.5 team. Captains this season are: 3.0-3.5: Phil Lombardino 4.0-4.5: Steve Webster

Ladies Morning Workouts-MayTuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am - 10:30 am Divisions 1 and 2.10:30am -11:30am For Divisions 3 and 4.Cost $10 per person. $ 15 if under 4 people.You can sign up via website or contact Michael Corthum.

Facility ImprovementsThe shade structure is getting a fi nal coat of paint and outdoor fans are being installed. On courts 10 & 11 the mats along the brick wall have been repaired and will be installed within a couple of weeks.

Hamilton Lakes On-Line Tennis LadderThis new software is similar to the court reser-vation system and allows Hamilton Lakes play-ers to play within diff erent Ladders! Ladders are structured for Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles. This is a great tool to allow members to meet and play with other members. There is a sign up link on the Hamilton Lakes website

Men’s and Ladies Night!Men’s Night will be Thursdays at 7pm. $5 per person, includes beverages and snacks. Watch your email for sign up. The fi rst Ladies Night will be May 16th.

There will be six 4-day sessions of these Quickstart clinics o� ered this summer. June 13-16, 20-23, July 5-8, 11-14, Aug 8-11, 22-25.

Junior Tennis Camps · June 27-30, July 18-21 & Aug 1-4 and Aug 15-18We will also off er four-day tennis camps this summer.The philosophy of the camp is to give juniors the opportunity to develop their tennis game and skills for a couple of hours each day. These camps are de-signed for players 8 yrs old and up.Daily schedule: 9:00-11:00am Tennis instruction, drills, games and play.11:15-11:45am Lunch(will be furnished from grill)11:45-12-45am swimming/games at poolCost: $105 per week per child

Spring Junior Quickstart ClinicsApril 4th-May 25th (8 week session)Monday and/or Wednesday

4-6yr olds: 3:15-4:00pm $60 for 1 day per week & $110 for 2 days per week

7 yr old and up: 4:00-5:00pm$80 for 1 day per week & $150 for 2 days per week

Summer Junior InterclubSummer Junior Interclub will start the week of June 13th. Practices will be each Monday and Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 or 2:00-3:00 depending on age group. The matches are on Thursday afternoons. This is a six week season ending with an individual tournament which is held here at Hamilton Lakes. Cost for the six week season is $100 per child. We hope to have a team in all four age groups.

Hamilton Lakes Junior OpenWe are hosting a Junior State tournament here for the fi rst time that is sanctioned through the USTA. It is a Level 4 State Tournament, and will be held on June 10th-12th. Hopefully some local kids will be playing, as well as kids from all over North Carolina. Come out and watch some future stars. Please keep in mind, we will be using all of the courts on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday for this event.
