Atmel based Automatic Traffic Signal Controlling System

ABSTRACT:

In modern world everyone wants their job to be done as soon aspossible, no one is ready to wait for no one. As population increases theneed also increased. As of transportation plays main role in daily life, it isvery hard to find people who not use vehicle.

So most of the roads are flooded with car, lorry, bus, bike... etc, whichresults in heavy traffic. This project is to overcome the drawbacks of manualtraffic signalling system.

Here we maintain some time period to change the traffic signal stepby step, the time period can be display LCD displays, whenever the timeperiod value decreases to zero than change the signal light.

In this type technology are more helpful to control traffic in urbanareas, and improve the transport management. We don’t want tocontinuously monitor traffic, this technology can control automatically.

This project uses regulated 5V, 750mA power supply. 7805 threeterminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type fullwave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/18V stepdown transformer.
