advent prayer: lift up your heartWe long to worship the savior with new passion this Christmas. family advent serviceOn Sunday, December 6, 4:30 pm, we will host an evening of Fellowship, Fun, and Worship geared for the whole family! We’ll start with an interactive service in the Sanctuary to explain the meaning, symbols, and traditions of Advent. The service is followed by dinner, fellowship, and crafts in the Fellowship Hall. There will be Family Advent resources available for purchase. Dinner is free. RSVP at register.pcpc.org. song and storyJoin the Children’s Ministry Friday, December 11, 10:30-11:30 am, in Room 122 for Song & Story! The program is suitable for toddlers through Kindergarten. We will sing songs, listen to stories, and have an exciting time! Iced tea and water will be provided to parents; lunch will not be served. No RSVP is necessary. We hope to see you there! Taught by our pastors, this will be an opportunity to learn more about some things you heard in the New Members’ Class. Basics and Beyond is open to everyone. surviving the holidays – griefshareAs the holidays approach, it is our desire to provide a small measure of support to those of you who have lost a loved one recently. A special gathering will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 7:00–8:30 pm in the Oak Lawn West Conference Room. Light refreshments will be offered, followed by a video and group discussion. advent memorial serviceThis service replaces our usual Vespers service in the Chapel on Wednesday, December 9, 5:30–6:30 pm and offers an opportunity for those grieving the loss of loved ones to remember them while worshipping through prayer, song, and the reading of God’s Word. We welcome you to come between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm to the area outside the Chapel to receive a card on which you may print the name of your loved one to come forward during the service and light a candle in memory of your lost loved one. WORSHIP AND THE ARTS

emmanuel: christmas concertPark Cities Presbyterian Church presents its traditional candlelight concert featuring carols and seasonal favorites Sunday, December 13, at both 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm presented by the children’s, youth, and adult choirs with symphony orchestra—reminding us that Emmanuel, “God with us,“ came into the world to pierce the darkness with His light of hope, joy and salvation. Each Christmas season we offer PCPC members the opportunity to purchase a poinsettia ($8.00 each) in memory of or honor of a friend or

family member. They will be in the sanctuary Sunday, December 13, and there will be a bulletin insert that morning listing the names of the donor and the recipient. Our chancel area will be wreathed in these beautiful plants for our worship services on December 13, and December 20. You may take your plant with you following the Christmas Eve evening services if you wish to do so. Please fill out the form below (when ordering multiple plants, please write information on a separate sheet of paper and attach to the form) and mail it no later than November 27 to insure that your gift is listed in the bulletin insert.
