Instructions for Completing the Application Form Introduction

The World Bank is announcing an Internship Program in its Ulaanbaatar Office to provide opportunities for selected candidates to build practical skills and augment research in respective fields; develop experience working in an international organization; gain exposure to the international development efforts; and deepen the understanding of Mongolia’s development issues and challenges. This, in turn, would enrich the World Bank with interns’ unique inputs and perspectives. The internship at the Bank’s Ulaanbaatar Office promises to be an interesting and rewarding opportunity for career and personal development!

To be eligible for the Internship Program, candidates must: • Be citizen of a member country of the World Bank • Possess an undergraduate degree and already be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a

Master's degree or PhD) with plans to return to school in a full-time capacity. Generally, successful candidates have completed their first year of graduate studies or are already into their PhD programs

• Be 32 years of age or younger when entering the internship program • Be fluent in English. Prior relevant work experience, computing skills will be advantageous. • Be specialized in a field relevant to the World Bank's operations such as economics, finance, education,

urban development, natural resource management, environmental development, as well as other related fields.

The selected candidates will be engaged in assisting the Resident office operations, development and

implementation of the World Bank activities in one of the priority areas of the World Bank in Mongolia, which are rural and environmental development; urban development; and natural resource management. Thus, the candidates are sought amongst top students of the leading Universities in the fields of economics, finance, human development, agriculture, environment, and private sector development.

The Program would be offered for the period of 1 to 6 months. The Bank pays an hourly salary to all interns but does not provide allowance towards travel expenses. Interns are responsible for their own living accommodations.

Guidelines / Criteria

The World Bank does not inform about intermediate results, does not notify about current status of application, and does not explain the reasons of decline.

Only those identified for an assignment will be contacted to discuss their interest and availability.

Candidates are selected by a panel on a highly competitive basis.

2. Please answer all questions.

3. Your answers must be in English and must use English characters. Try to avoid of using such letters like ñ, é, ü, ç.

4. Complete the boxes under individual headings from left to right.

5. If the question contains checkbox and offers more than one answer, check the boxes which apply.

6. Days, months and years should be completed with slash – MM/DD/YYYY. e.g. 25 May 1980 is 05/25/1980.

7. Telephone and fax numbers are given including the country code separated from the number with hyphen, e.g. +976-11-333333.

8. Review the information you entered for accuracy.

9. All applications (application form in interactive fillable Adobe format) must be submitted electronically with reference to “Internship Program” to the following e-mail address: [email protected] .
