Cortisol and weight loss diets just don’t mix!
Many men and women claim that dieting works........but the shocking facts are that
98% of all weight loss diets fail! The biggest issue is that people use dieting as a
short-term solution for a long-term problem.
The reason is, believe it or not the body comes under huge amounts of stress both
emotionally, mentally and physically after the Christmas period this leads to increased
cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone that the adrenal glands secrete in response to
stress. Low calorie diets also trigger the release of cortisol that could lead to weight
gain. Negative side effects include elevated blood pressure, a decrease in insulin
response; blood sugar levels are out of balance and an increase in abdominal fat.
However we all respond to stress in various ways some actually lose weight, others
react to stress as to the production of increased cortisol by eating more carbohydrates
in particular. And it’s through this combination that weight gain is more likely.
End the cycle of piling the pounds back on
There are many different diet concepts and if you have weight issues there is a likely
chance you have tried them all! Some people have had success; others have not. But
the odds are that, even if you achieved your goal, you've gone back to your old habits
and, over a short period of time, piled the pounds back on plus often ending up
weighing more than you did originally.
The reasons for this are that weight-loss diets that radically reduce calorie intake by
more than 500 Kcal and reduce vital nutrients. They also encourage people to feel
guilty about food.
Food is our friend! It is a vital energy source; especially in building lean muscle tissue
that can increase our metabolism and energy levels, helping you lose weight naturally.
The solution to weight loss should not focus solely on dieting, but instead should be
based around developing good lifestyle changes and behavior habits that educate and
teach you how to burn fat naturally.
Become a natural fat-
burning machine through
detoxification
The best way to describe
detoxification is that it’s similar
to getting your car serviced.
Every year or every 20,000
miles your car will require a
service. Included, as part of that
service, is an oil change. By having your car serviced regularly, you can reliably
expect to reduce your maintenance bills and that the car will last longer.
It’s exactly the same with your body. If you don’t get it regularly serviced and the oil
changed, it will become less efficient and productive. Detoxification is great if you
are feeling sluggish, have carbohydrate and sugar cravings, a poor metabolism,
irregular bowel movements and poor energy levels. Detoxification is a great tool to
help correct most digestive issues including a leaky gut, food intolerances, irritable
bowel syndrome and constipation. All of these digestive problems are common after
Christmas.
An increase in body fat especially around your stomach is also a clear indicator that
you need to detox! Successful detoxification can also help to reverse insulin resistance
as it can help remove the body’s waste products and help balance blood sugar
(glucose) levels.
What are the benefits of detoxification?
Burn stubborn stomach fat
Control sugar and carb cravings, hunger and mood swings
Increase metabolism, energy levels and improve productivity
Eliminate fatigue and tiredness

Reduce cortisol levels
What do I need to do for a
good detoxification?
Foods that are rich in B
Vitamins such as
oysters, mussels, liver,
caviar, mackerel, lean
beef, lamb, Swiss
cheeses (in moderation)
and ducks’ eggs
(chickens’ eggs are OK
too but have less vitamin B12 in them).
Drink water in between meals

gut to its health and harmony. Probiotics can be found in yogurt mainly.
Stimulate your digestion by drinking hot water with a slice of lemon on a daily
basis
