Industrial Automation
Rising labor costs and off shore competition make industrial automation a necessity for any manufacturing business. Beam Dynamics Lasermachines have been specifically designed with a full range of automation features to boost factorythrough-put and eliminate manual operation.
Beam Dynamic’s machine design approach emphasizes manufacturingprocess consistency, precision and reliability. But what good is precision if it starts to deteriorate (wear out) from the moment the machine is firstused? Beam’s Laser Machining Centers aredesigned so that each axis incorporates a flat and stable optically read ruler, ensuring zero loss of precision over time.
• Compact and recognizes your factory floor space is valuable
• Optically based positioning system in closed loop with servo motors for absolute, not interpolated, positioning
• Kinematic design principles result in stable optics and motion repeatability
A Machine Tool
Power controlBeam Dynamics earliest design notes 15 years ago recognized that the benefit of a laser comes from its ability to apply consistent energy to a manufacturing process. The laser is a knife that never dulls and puts zero tool load on the part being cut.Everything about our designs contributes to the consistency and control of energydelivery from part to part, for year after year.

No more flame polishing edges by hand.
Although plastic is easy to cut with a router, it requires time-consuming hand work afterwards in order to create acceptable edges. Beam Dynamics’ cutting machines produce precisely cut parts with beautiful flame polished edges directly off the machine. And because there are no router bits to replace or post-processing required, you can save a tremendous amount of time and money.
Enjoy the benefits of a cleaner, safer machine.
Beam Dynamics’ machines are completely enclosed, resulting in a clean, dust-free work environment. The fully sealed system, with a vacuum table and integrated exhaust, keeps your work area clean and odor-free. The laser beam is contained within a Class I safety enclosure, keeping your operators safe without requiring additional safety equipment.

Increase throughput and flexibility with more table area.
Our machines provide a 48”x 48” cutting area with a pass-through that allows cutting parts of unlimited length. With our flexible pallet system, the cutting bed can be removed from the front or back of the machine for easy material loading, and is well suited for factory automation. Our systems also provide up to 12 inches of clearance for cutting or engraving on non-sheet material or on parts requiring fixturing.
LARGECUTTING BED
Precise Cutting of Plastics at High Speeds
Beam Dynamics’ premier laser cutting systems are ideal for
cutting perfect parts from all types of plastic. Our machines
are easy to operate, producing parts directly from the original
digital art files. High powered for thicker materials and much
faster than a router, each system offers a level of flexibility
and speed unmatched by other cutting methods. With no
setup or tooling costs, you will have faster turn around, lower
costs and happier customers.
A BEAM laser cutting system is an important tool for any plastic fabricator because:
Small tool cut width (kerf of .006”) enables the cutting of any shape that can be drawn.
Process improvements like pre-laminating large sheets of materials before cutting save hand work and time.
Zero tool load: Clamping, complex, or dangerous holding methods are not required when cutting with a weightless beam of light.
Clean work environment: Lasers vaporize materials without dust.
Large cutting bed allows you to cut large sheets of materials.
Flame polished parts ready to be shipped right off the table.
Tool variability eliminated: Absolute repeatability with a tool that never dulls.
Extremely low operating costs: The machine costs less than $1/hour to run and maintain.
Flexible cutting and manufacturing
Each machine in our product line is designed to meet the varying cutting needs of the plastic fabrication shop. All types of plastic can be cut rapidly and cost-effectively—whether it’s a prototype, small job or full production run. Our machines are so easy to use that a single operator can run several machines simultaneously, increasing throughput and decreasing costs.
Produce parts faster and cheaper
Beam Dynamics machines can cut at speeds much faster than routers or low powered laser machines, and cost less than $1 per hour to operate and maintain. The high speed and high acceleration of our systems dramatically reduce cutting time. Our systems also incorporate flying optics, where the part being cut remains stationary while the laser beam is directed by mirrors. This high-speed design is completely non-contact, so there are no tools to wear or break, and your parts won’t get rolled on during cutting.
Our machines allow you to produce intricate designs
that are difficult and expensive, if not impossible, for a
router. The machine sets the cutting path according to
the original digital artwork, greatly simplifying the
cutting process.
BEAM offers more than just a cutting machine—we offer
an extension directly into your workflow. Whatever the
material—be it nylon, polycarbonate, Mylar, even paper
or steel—you can dramatically improve your
process with our fully integrated system.

Create detailed designs impossible with a router.
Lasers have allowed intricate wood designs to take any shape imaginable. The laser makes it easy to move beyond the simple geometric designs used in the past. Cut fine detail, inside corners, perfect circles, and small pieces without burning or breaking! With small kerf offsets, wood floor and furniture inlays can be assembled with no gaps between components. Small kerfs also ensure a cost savings on materials because you will incur much less waste.
The proof is in the part – ask to see a sample today!
Enjoy the benefits of a cleaner machine.
Beam Dynamics’ machines are completely enclosed, resulting in a clean, dust-free work environment. As the laser vaporizes the material, a stream of compressed air forces away smoke and particulate – leaving you with parts that are virtually dust free. This means that masking is not required, which can be a huge time savings, especially when cutting smaller pieces. The completely sealed system, with a vacuum table and integrated exhaust, keep your work area clean and odor-free.
