API (Application Programing Interface)
To improve access to data and encourage innovation, the Census Bureau has begun to provide API access to some data sets. We invite developers to use these APIs, join our Developer Forum, and provide feedback to help us improve your experience.

New Thinking!
CEDCaPCensus Enterprise Data Collection and
Processing• We are creating one system to handle data
collection and processing for the entire agency, called CEDCaP, or Census Enterprise Data Collection and Processing.
• CEDCaP will reduce redundancies in data collection and processing, saving millions of taxpayer dollars.

CEDSCI Center for Enterprise Dissemination Services and Consumer Innovation
What is CEDSCI?
GOAL:
• Establishing an enterprise-wide approach to how the Census Bureau develops innovative data dissemination tools and capabilities
GOAL:
• Creating a dissemination platform to meet the customers growing needs in a world where information is expected to be immediately accessible and easy to find.
The Overall Goals
Continue to evolve with emerging technologies
Provide data in easily understandable and searchable forms
Allow Census Team to focus on innovations and advancements
MYTH OR FACT!
MYTH: Data tables are going away.
The great thing about CEDSCI is that it will appeal to the needs of all customers – regardless of their level of interaction with our data. The complex and heavy users will still have access to their tables, while general users will be able to consume information in a format that is simple and easy to understand.
MYTH: CEDSCI is an actual center that is solely focused on the program.
There isn't an actual "center" dedicated to the project. In fact, CEDSCI is made up of a team of three full-time government staff members and a cross-directorate leadership board. Having representatives from all directorates ensures we are making decisions that work best for the agency. As the project moves forward, the team will continue to grow.
Myth: CEDSCI is being developed without input from outside sources
The CEDSCI development is an ongoing process that can always be adapted based on customer feedback and requests. This ongoing communication between the CEDSCI team and the customer is critical to developing an agile system that meets the needs of every user.
MYTH: CEDSCI is just American Fact Finder's replacement.
Not at all. While CEDSCI will eventually be used instead of American Fact Finder, it will do much more than what American Fact Finder currently does, making it easier for the user to track down the data he or she needs.
