PRE-BAPTISM CLASSES
Pre-Baptism classes will be held on Saturdays of every other month. Classes start at 10:00 am in the Dompka Education Center at St. Margaret Mary. The next class is scheduled on
Saturday, April 4, 2020 Call your parish office to register for the class and schedule the Baptism. All paper work must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the Baptism. Note: St. Catherine of Siena offers classes by appointment. A godparent must be a baptized Catholic who is at least 16 years of age and received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation, is in good standing with the Catholic Church and is not the parent. If married, the sponsor must be in a valid marriage in the Catholic Church and a registered, participating member of a parish. Call your parish office for a sponsor letter.

Monday, February, 3rd is the Feast of St. Blaise, an early Christian martyr, known for the miraculous cure of a choking child. In his honor, the Church blesses throats on his feast day. If you would like to receive this blessing please come to morning Mass, on Monday February 3rd at St. Catherine of Siena, St. Joseph, or St. Margaret Mary. The blessing of the throats will take place after the Mass.

FROM FR. FRANK… Please join me in welcoming Fr. Drew Morgan to our parishes of faith and worship. Bishop Zubik has assigned Fr. Drew “in residence” at St. Joseph rectory where he will be able to assist me, Fr. Sean, and Fr. Mingwei in our sacramental duties. Fr. Drew is a full time faculty member at Duquesne University, but he looks forward to celebrating the sacraments with us through baptism, reconciliation, and the Eucharist. I would ask you to greet Fr. Drew warmly when you see him at our Masses. And, please be patient as he gets used to us and we get used to him. Finally, I would want you to know that Fr. Drew receives his salary from Duquesne University which is a great gift to us. Furthermore, any improvements to the St. Joseph rectory are being paid for by Fr. Drew and friends so there will be no financial burden to the parish.

ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA CHOIR RAISE YOUR VOICES TO THE LORD! Members of our parish have expressed an interest in forming an “informal choir” . While we work out the details, we ask anyone interested to join us at the 10:30 am Mass on February 16th. There will not be practice, we will simply sing the hymns chosen for that weekend. After the 16th, we hope to jin together on the first Sunday of each month. This has nothing to do with our Folk Group, so whether or not you sing with, everyone and anyone is welcome. We will sit by the organ as a group. Please consider joining us if you love to sing!

ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA RECYCLING PROJECT BENIFITTING ST. JUDE HOSPITAL Thank you all for helpng with our Cans for St. Jude project. We raised $351.22! Then, Mr. Lex Camesi from the Iron City Recycling Center, matched that, bringing our total to $717.84. We sent it St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital during one of their matching programs and that turned it into $1435.68!!!! It was kind of like the miracle of the loaves and fishes!!!
Thank you, Dear Jesus for these generous hearts. IMPORTANT REMINDER to anyone who currently participates, or anyone new to the program...We accept ONLY ALUMINUM CANS at St. Catherine Parish. Addiction Ministry (SAM) Drug and alcohol dependence and abuse causes great distress for both the afflicted and affected loved ones.
The magnitude of the pain and suffering is so enormous it is
impossible to calculate. But there is hope and there is help. The
Substance Addiction Ministry (SAM) is a ministry of prayer, presentations
and personal presence.
On Thursday, February 6, 2020 the community SAM Team will
gather in the Parish Family Room in the back of the church at Saint Margaret Mary in Moon Township
at 6:30 pm to pray a “Rosary for Recovery” for all those who are
afflicted or affected, or have lost loved ones to
addiction.

Members Special February 2 Mass at St. Margaret Mary - Consider joining us for the special Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas) mass in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musi-cians annual celebration, February 2 at 3:00 PM in St. Margaret Mary church. This special mass will count for your weekly obligation and will have you home with plenty of time to catch the pregame show for the Super Bowl! Refreshments will follow the mass in the church hall. More information can be found in the music notes and on the church doors.
Why are there Christmas decorations in St. Margaret Mary today? With the special celebration of Candlemas we will officially close out the Christmas season and bless candles. Families will be able to take home a blessed candle to light as they pray together throughout the year. Candles will be available after mass.

This will also be a fund raiser for the summer Mission trip.
