Living the Gospel by Supporting Mental Health Wellness Last year, over 3,200 people accessed individual, couple and family counselling at Catholic Family Services of Peel Dufferin, a ShareLife-funded agency. Given that depression has replaced back injury as the number one reason for absenteeism at work, these services are helping clients maintain employment and stay out of poverty. By supporng ShareLife agencies like CFS Peel-Dufferin, you’re helping people find health and happiness.
Today is ShareLife Sunday. Thank you for your generosity.. Our St. Mary’s Parish Goal is: $ 116,200.00
Collected to Date: $ 56,477.55
Your Support Makes it Happen • Refugee reselement In 2017, the Office of Refugees of the Archdiocese of Toronto oversaw the arrival of 1,193 refugees and iniated 381 new sponsorships. • Bridges Out of Poverty Run by Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County, this program helps clients develop skills and follow a plan to escape the cycle of poverty. • Acvies for seniors The number of clients served by LA Centre for Acve Living grew by 34% in the past year, in part, due to the opening of a new locaon. • Walk-in counselling clinics By accessing same-day counselling without an appointment, clients are oen able to address their needs without requiring addional sessions. • Supporng agency staff Invesng in the retenon and enhancement of qualified professionals helps ensure the best possible care. • Shared services Back-office integraon among agencies is improving administrave efficiency. Agencies are sharing resources in financial management, human resources, and informaon technology. The service provider for this project is SE Health. • Collaborave Evaluaon Project This iniave helps Catholic Family Services agencies measure outcomes related to coun-selling programs. The project includes benchmarking for quality improvement, increasing effecveness, and building sustainable evaluaon pracces across agency programs.
A Message from the Liturgical Decorating Team We are offering up the opportunity for you the Parishioners to raise up the Pentecost Celebraon. Offerings of red or white flower plants would help in this most Blessed me. If you wish to dedicate your flower plants to someone who has passed away, please put the name in the pot. Please leave them from Saturday, June 1st to 7th at the parish office. Thank you for your generosity. God Bless, The Ligurical Decoraon Team
“Pentecost is from the Greek Pentekostos which means 50th. On Pentecost, “the mission of the Christ and of the Spirit became the mission of the Church which is sent to proclaim and spread the mystery of the communion of the Holy Trinity.” Aer the example of Mary and the disciples on the first Pentecost on which “the Church came to birth,” we pray and wait for the
same Spirit graciously promised by Jesus and listen with quiet hearts to the Word of the Lord. Next weekend we celebrate the feast of Pentecost and ask, that if possible for parishioners to wear something red in celebraon.
