![Page 13: SENIOR PATHWAYS INFORMATION EVENING Tuesday 24 July 2012](https://reader038.vdocuments.site/reader038/viewer/2022110322/56649d145503460f949e8f72/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
PATHWAYS - Now
![Page 14: SENIOR PATHWAYS INFORMATION EVENING Tuesday 24 July 2012](https://reader038.vdocuments.site/reader038/viewer/2022110322/56649d145503460f949e8f72/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Why the need for a choice in pathways?
• Students have different talents and strengths
• Students learn in different ways• Education needs to be relevant to the
student & how they interact with and understand the world they live in
• Success can be achieved by following many different pathways and can be shown in many different ways
![Page 15: SENIOR PATHWAYS INFORMATION EVENING Tuesday 24 July 2012](https://reader038.vdocuments.site/reader038/viewer/2022110322/56649d145503460f949e8f72/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Your story is yet to be written
Will it involve…..
• VCE – Victorian Certificate of Education
• VET – Vocational Education & Training
• VCAL – Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning
• SBAT – School Based Apprenticeship & Traineeship
![Page 16: SENIOR PATHWAYS INFORMATION EVENING Tuesday 24 July 2012](https://reader038.vdocuments.site/reader038/viewer/2022110322/56649d145503460f949e8f72/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)

Questions to consider• What led you to choose VCE over other
pathways?
• How has VCE been different to Year 10? What was good/ what was a challenge?
• You are both studying a Unit 3 and 4 sequence. How have you found it? Does it influence how you manage your time?
• What advice would you offer students embarking on VCE?
![Page 18: SENIOR PATHWAYS INFORMATION EVENING Tuesday 24 July 2012](https://reader038.vdocuments.site/reader038/viewer/2022110322/56649d145503460f949e8f72/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)

Ask YourselfWhat are my strengths as a student? What areas of study am I good at and have interest in?
What career path may I wish to follow? Are there any prerequisite studies that I will need for a future pathway?
Have I spoken to others – friends who have completed units I am interested in, teachers, family, Careers advisors?
