Ourteamcandesignyourvesselfromadatasheetthatyouprovideorsomethingassimpleasanemailcontainingtherequiredpressure,temperatureandvolumeofyourvessel.
Wecanalsoofferthecompletedesignofyourprocessskid.ThedesignwillincludeaStructuralSkidorModuleFrameandthenecessaryPiping&InstrumentationDrawingswithcompletedBillofMaterials(PipeISO’s).
Apressurevesselisacontainerdesignedtoholdgasesorliquidsatapressuresubstantiallydifferentfromtheambientpressure.
Pressurevesselscanbedangerous,andfatalaccidentshaveoccurredinthehistoryoftheirdevelopmentandoperation.Consequently,pressurevesseldesign,manufacture,andoperationareregulatedbyengineeringauthoritiesbackedbylegislation.Forthesereasons,thedefinitionofapressurevesselvariesfromcountrytocountry.
Designinvolvesparameterssuchasmaximumsafeoperatingpressureandtemperature,safetyfactor,corrosionallowanceandminimumdesigntemperature(forbrittlefracture).
Constructionistestedusingnondestructivetesting,suchasultrasonictesting,radiography,andpressuretests.Hydrostatictestsusewater,butpneumatictestsuseairoranothergas.
Hydrostatictestingispreferred,becauseitisasafermethod,asmuchlessenergyisreleasedifafractureoccursduringthetest(waterdoesnotrapidlyincreaseitsvolumewhenrapiddepressurizationoccurs,unlikegaseslikeair,whichfailexplosively).Inmostcountries,vesselsoveracertainsizeandpressuremustbebuilttoaformalcode.IntheUnitedStatesthatcodeistheASMEBoilerandPressureVesselCode(BPVC).Thesevesselsalsorequireanauthorizedinspectortosignoffoneverynewvesselconstructedandeachvesselhasanameplatewithpertinentinformationaboutthevessel,suchasmaximumallowableworkingpressure,maximumtemperature,minimumdesignmetaltemperature,whatcompanymanufacturedit,thedate,itsregistrationnumber(throughtheNationalBoard),andASME'sofficialstampforpressurevessels(U-stamp).ThenameplatemakesthevesseltraceableandofficiallyanASMECodevessel.
