Darren Gynther - Head of Primary
Mueller College won the Redcliffe
Show’s Art Display Competition!
The display will be open for the public
to view this weekend, from Friday
through to Sunday.
The design features artwork from
students in the Primary school and is
an outstanding
team effort!
The display
includes
prayer's written
by the Year 5’s,
whilst Year 6
wrote
reflections of
'what "In
Remembrance"
Means to Me',
which are now
nicely
presented as
flip books, and
reveal some
real depth of thought. These will be a
true witness of Jesus to the wider
community on the part of the students
who wrote them.
The paper poppies were painted by our
Year 1’s and Preppies, the paper
mache hats were made by the Year 1’s
and 2’s. The illustrated 'Well
Known Anzacs' posters (soldiers and
nurses) were created by the Year 4’s,
and the nurse's outfit was made by
Year 6 students Grace Hilton,
Katherine Kriel and Annabelle Pring.
Mr Brian Critchley made the wooden
cross, come Anzac Grave marker.
The 'In Remembrance' sign was made
by some of our Year 1’s and 2’s, the
making of paper poppies and painting
of their sticks and Styrofoam supports
by several Year 2’s and 3’s. Mrs
Richens and her
Year 3 class did
hours of work
making fabric
poppies, which
look fantastic.
The painting of
the backdrop
was done by
members of the
Art staff and one
of our Year 5
students, Isaac
Chetcuti. These
backdrops along
with a poster or
two by a few
other students all work together so
beautifully!
Thanks to every student who helped
glue, paint, draw, paper mache, cut
and design to create such a fabulous
masterpiece.
Please pray with us that the community
is touched and a little of the Good
News we have to share is evident and
will impact into some people's
lives, and that the Lord is glorified.
Miss Ham

LATE SLIPS | EARLY DEPARTURES
In accordance with Page 24 of the Parent Handbook,
parents will need to sign out students from the front
desk for Primary Admin and from Student Services for
Secondary school.
A student cannot be released from class (even with a
written note), until an authorized adult has signed the
student out first and then handed the slip to the teacher.
This policy is in place to protect students from leaving
the school unsupervised.
Excerpt from parent handbook.
7.10 // LATE SLIPS AND EARLY DEPARTURES

Secondary students:
must report to Student Services N block, where the roll
will be amended. A late slip will be provided and is to be
given to the class teacher. If a student is being taken
home early, parents should sign the student out at

GRADE 6 COLONIAL DAY
On Tuesday, 23rd of June the Year 6 students dressed up in colonial styled clothing to come to school for the annual
Grade 6 Colonial day.
To start the day off we marched around the A quad with Federation styled signs so the rest of the Primary school
could see our costumes. We then did activities in our class groups. Our first rotation was the outside games with Mr
Weir. The class played a game of cricket and did sack races. We had lots of fun. Our next rotation was French
knitting. Mrs Jays taught us how to make a scarf. Then we went to Miss Aston’s room and she taught us how to
make damper. Our last rotation was the photo booth with Mrs O’Loughlan. We took photos in our costumes with our
friends and class.
After this the whole grade came together again in the undercover area to take part in a bush dance. We danced to
the nut bush and heal and toe polka. It was fun! Then we had a big picnic with our friends on the oval with all the
food that we had brought. We ate lots of food and had a delicious sausage sizzle. Lastly we came back to the class
room and watched a movie called ‘My Place’ which showed us how different life was like in the early1900’s. It was a
great day.
By Tyla Malherbe and Hannah Kraus (6R)
On Monday 22nd
June the Year 6 boy’s football team travelled to Maroochydore Football club to take part in the
Sunshine Coast Regional Soccer Finals.
As they kicked off the semi final against Bli Bli State School, a light drizzle started to fall. Mueller quickly fell behind
with Bli Bli dominating the early play and were lucky to head into the half time break only trailing 1-0. Mueller came
out with some excellent play and scored 2 superb team goals by Keenan and Nick to go up 2-1 with 5 minutes left in
the game. Unfortunately Bli Bli was able to level the scores and the game went into golden goal extra-time. After
both teams had good chances it was Bli Bli who got the goal to end the game and a heart breaking loss for the boys
with the final score 2-3.
Mueller had only a 5 minute break before they headed into the third and fourth play-off match against Sunshine
Coast Grammar. In the first half of the match the boys played with fatigue and disappointment from their previous
game and went into the break trailing 1-0. After some inspirational half time talks and realising they had their last
half of football left for the season they again showed their class and skills by scoring 2 goals to give Mueller a well
deserved 2-1 win and become the third best team in the Sunshine Coast Region.
Well done to the boys for a great season.
