Summer
Camp at
ROCK EAGLE
with Monroe County 4-H
June 22th –26th, 2020
During five days of fun you will attend
awesome workshops and activities, plus have free
time to hang out with your friends and make lots of
new ones!
The camp is named
after the Rock Eagle effigy
mound. This archaeological
site is estimated to have been
constructed 3,000 years ago. Campers are divided
into Native American tribes: Cherokee, Muskogee,
or Shawnee. The tribes compete all week to win the
coveted tribal shield!
Camp workshops may include archery,
canoeing, entomology, forestry, herpetology, high
ropes, lake ecology, sailing, or
wildlife. Other activities
offered are Native American
lore, crafts, nature hikes,
swimming, and putt‐putt.
There’s entertainment too….a counselor variety
show, campfire, and so much more !
The highlight of the week is the Thursday
night pageant! Tribes assemble to compete in games
and learn about the legend of Rock Eagle.

checked adult leaders.
The cabins are nicely furnished with air
conditioning, bunk beds, & bathrooms.
Rock Eagle is located Eatonton, about an hour from
Forsyth.
We understand that the cost of camp can be
overwhelming for some. All registered campers
will have the opportunity to fundraise their way
to camp. 4-H’ers will have the chance to sell
Krispy Kreme certificates and participate in the
third annual mattress fundraiser to help offset the
cost of camp. Each camper will receive a
fundraising packet at the time of sign-up! While it
may not seem like much, each fundraisers can
add up fast! For example: each Krispy Kreme
certificate sold will raise $4. Let’s do a little
math…Cost of camp after $85 deposit = $240. $4
earnings for each certificate sold ÷ $240 = 60
certificates. Just by selling 10 certificates you can
save $40!
Refunds will only be given for the following rea-
sons: 1) Medical documentation due to illness/
injury, or 2) death in immediate family. Requests
must be in writing. No refunds will be given for “no
shows” or early departure from camp due to
homesickness, discipline, etc. No refunds will be
made until after the end of the 4-H camping season.
