Most user’s of LPG or Propanegas, assume that their fuel is clean, free of water, particulate, heavyoils, harmful chemicals such assulfur, when in fact, this may notbe true. Refinery practices, inadequate filtration, holdingtanks, delivery trucks, all add tothe problem. What is needed is afilter that insures the fuel enteringthe system is free of contaminantsbut at a price that is affordable.

BlueMoon’s® new Multi-StageFiltration is based upon acombination of the principles;fluid movement, particulate and

MULT-STAGE FILTER/COALESCER /TRAP

Graphic diagram above shows the fluid movement separation and trapping ofwater particulate heavy oils and sulfur.

• Stage Three: As the fuel enters the stage where smallparticulate, water droplets and heavy oil droplets donot follow the flow path perfectly, but randomlycollide with each other. The walls of this filter stage,and/or the filter media causes larger droplets to form, plus encapsulating particulate, and heavy oil aerosoldroplets, within the small micron 10-micron filterstage. The use of interception and diffusion was theresulting filtration technique for this stage. Theintegrated result of molecular motion and filter media.

• Stage Four: The final stage, was design to presentoptimum structure of filter media. Not channel-likebut rather to continuously present new rough surfacesas obstacles in the flow path, causing the finerparticulate, water, and heavy oils to strike the roughsurfaces and each other, until they become largeenough to be held in this media. Since most of thelarger water, heavy oils, and particulate molecules havebeen removed before entering this phase, the 5-micron stage is able to work longer and moreefficiently. BlueMoon’s® Multistage System designdoes not have leaks around the filter cartridge andunfiltered fuel is not allowed into the system.

droplet, action, re-action, interception plus molecularmotion along with diffusion.

• Stage One: Designed to remove and then hold thewater, heavy oils, and particulate from the fuel as itpasses through the filter. As the fuel moves throughthe first stage water droplets collide forming largerdroplets. These larger droplets fall out of the fuelflow and are trapped. The larger, heavier particulate,by nature, is going to fall out of suspension in thisstage. Inertia and size will also trap medium size40- micron to small 20-micron particulate. Heavyoils will also be removed and held in this stage, alongwith most sulfur. As an added benefit, when thesize of the water droplets increases, smallerparticulate, heavy oils, sulfur, etc., are encapsulatedin the water droplets and held.

• Stage Two: Has spacing before and after, so mediumsize particulate and droplets can collide to form largerdroplets. While this material is lighter than what iscollected in the stage one, because of the uniquedesign, the lighter particulate and droplets eitherare held in this stage or will be held when they reacha larger size drop back to the first stage. This stageremoves particulate and water down to the 20-micronlevel. By designing the second stage to allow theparticulate and water droplets as they become largerto move back to the first stage, prolongs filter life. This is a combination of Van der Waai and Coandaprinciples of particulate and fluid movement.
