LIFTING SYSTEM FOR INJURED LARGE ANIMALS
• WHAT’ THE NEED OF SUCH A DEVICE ?
1. LARGE BODY WEIGHT OF THE ANIMALS
2. WHENEVER AN INJURED ANIMAL TRIES TO GET UP, SUDDEN TRANSFER OF LARGE BODY WEIGHT TO INJURED PART OCCURES, WHICH AGGRAVATES THE INJURY
3. ANIMAL BECOMES RECUMBENT
PROLONGED RECUMBENCY OF ANIMALS IS LARGELY ATTRIBUTED TO:
LONG BONE INJURY
LIGAMENTAL INJURY
JOINT AFFECTION
NEUROMUSCULAR DISORDERS
RECUMBENCY ULTIMATELY LEADS TO PAINFUL DEATH OF THE ANIMAL
ASSISTANCE TO THESE ANIMALS IN GETTING UP AND PROVIDING SUPPORT IS MOST IMPORTANT AS:
STANDING CONSTITUTES THE ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF THE TREATMENT AND THEIRREHABILITATION PROGRAMME
THE LIFTING SYSTEM CONSISTS OF FOLLOWING BASIC COMPONENTS :-
1.SELF ALIGNINIG CLAMPING DEVICE
2.TUBULAR SUPER STRUCTURE
3.STANDARD PULLING AND LIFTING DEVICE
CLAMPING DEVICE A SELF ALIGNING CLAMPING DEVICE CLAMPS THE ANIMAL AT ITS PIN BONE.
TUBULAR SUPER STRUCTURE
A TUBULAR SUPERSTRUCTURE TO HOLD THE ANIMAL THROUGH AN OVER HEAD PULLEY.THE REMOVABLE CROSS-MEMBERS PROVIDED IN THIS STRUCTURE SUPPORTS THE PNEUMATIC CUSHIONS OVER WHICH ANIMAL CAN REST

A technique of growing plants (without soil) in water containing dissolved nutrient
Hydroponics (from the Greek words hydro water and ponos labor) is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, without soil. Terrestrial plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral nutrient solution only or in an inert medium, such as gravel, or mineral wool
A 1000 kg. Capacity greenhouse of 300 sq. ft. produces 365000 kg fresh green fodder per year, which is equivalentof 25 acres of grass field
In this greenhouse only 2 to 3 litre of water are required to produce 1 kg. of green grass whereas conventional methods require an average of 80 litre water to produce the same quantity.
Produces succulent green feed of constant quality and quantity every day of the year.
The green feed produced is palatable, nutritious and free from contamination.

Development of Heat Development of Heat Ameliorative Devices for Ameliorative Devices for
Cattle & BuffaloesCattle & Buffaloes
Keeping cows in their thermoneutral zone – 41 and 68 F degrees– can minimize the impact of seasonal changes on milk production, reproduction, feed efficiency
Heat stress not only lowers milk productionduring summer months but also reduces the potential for future milk production.
Why heat ameliorative Why heat ameliorative measures are required?measures are required?
“These adaptations are necessary to maintain a stable core body temperature, but they effect nutrient utilization and profitability on dairy farms.”
When housed in an environment beyond their thermoneutral zone, they adapt by altering their behavior and physiology
To develop an in-house automatic predefined intermittent water sprinkling system for buffaloes/cows to create heat ameliorative measures
To optimize cycle of water sprinkling duration and lean periods
To incorporate predefined automatic switching for intermittent air draft arrangement
To design and study water jackets for evaporative cooling
To design suitable wallowing tank for buffaloes utilizing water harvested through rains & waste water (available from the routine washing of milch animals of farm)
To develop animal water trough suitable for open animal paddocks for providing cooler water in comparison to existing water troughs
To study the effect of developed heat ameliorative devices on performance of animals
To explore possibility for modifying micro-climate of sheds for summer stress management of buffaloes.
Conventional Barns
Advantages include open-air ventilation, and protection of dairy cows from rain, snow, and excessive sunlight.
Cross-Ventilated Barns
• An alternative to traditional designs, featuring improved air quality, consistent temperatures, fly and bird control, less ammonia build-up, and enhanced cow comfort.
Tunnel-Ventilated Barns
• An efficient, comfortable design that allows for a continuous and stable breeze down the lanes, maintain cool temperatures all year-round.

Herd reproductive performance depends on cows being accurately detected in heat and achieving adequate conception rates when they are presented for artificial breeding to superiorprogeny tested bulls.
Our eyes are detectors which are designed to detect visible light waves (or visible radiation). There are forms of light (or radiation) which we
cannot see. Actually we can only see a very small part of the entire range of radiation called
the electromagnetic spectrum
Possibility of non-invasive diagnosis of estrus in
buffaloes based on body temperature profile.
Infrared can be used as a way to measure the heat radiated by an object. This is the radiation produced by the motion of atoms and molecules in an object. The higher the
temperature, the more the atoms and molecules move and the more infrared they produce. Any object which has a
temperature i.e. anything above absolute zero (-459.67 degrees Fahrenheit or -273.15 degrees Celsius or 0 degrees
Kelvin), radiates in the infrared.
Herd reproductive performance depends on cows being accurately detected in heat and achieving adequate conception rates when they are presented for artificial breeding to superior progeny tested bulls.
Objectives: •To observe out side temperature body
profiles of the buffaloes/cows at different stages of their lactation.
•To observe temperature profiles during estrus cycle in buffaloes/cows.
•To standardize a temperature profile indicative of peak of estrus cycle in buffaloes.
Practical utility:
•It would be possible to detect heat in the cattle buffaloes which may miss the insemination due to their silent nature.
•To explore possibility of temperature profiles indicatives of the stress in the animals
