The Dog and the Shadow
Aesop distributes cakes to the pigs in order to motivate them
to work. Godard thinks Aesop’s cake is bigger than his and asks
to switch cakes. When Aesop halfheartedly switches his cake
with Godard’s, the pigs start to fight over the big piece of cake.
Aesop is about to get angry but stops because a great idea pops
into his mind.
This is how the play “The Greedy Dog” was created. It is the
story of a dog that barks at his reflection in the stream, only
to end up losing the bread that he was holding in his mouth.
Episodes
The Lion, the Wolf and the FoxPresy catches a severe cold and all of the company members go to visit him.
But for some reason, Aesop does not come. Libbit says that Aesop did not come because he was afraid of catching a cold. He badmouths Aesop and says that Aesop had always been a coward. Aesop arrives at the door just when Libbit says this. Aesop had been late because he had searched for medicine the entire day. Aesop is very hurt but suppresses his anger and writes the play “The Lion, the Wolf and the Fox”.
Two Travelers and a Bear
Two friends were traveling when a bear suddenly appears
in front of them. One friend climbed up a tree to escape
the bear, and the other friend lay down on the ground and
pretended to be dead. The bear sniffed at the friend pretending
to be dead and walked away. The friend who had climbed up the
tree came down and asked his friend what the bear had said.
“The bear said, ‘don’t be friends with people who only think
about their own survival’.” The play is a huge success. But Libbit
is unhappy...
