Three levels of hypermedia in
education
This level hinders students from acquiring information, building sophisticated critical thinking and developing the habit of making connections with facts or information learned.
Level 1 Read-only Hypermedia
Research at this level suggests that fortraining to be effective the learnermust be actively engaged in the
learningprocess, and the training itself must bemeaningful and relevant to the
learnerscurrent needs (Knowles, 1970).
Level 2 Participatory Hypermedia
At this level, the hypermedia enablesstudents to explore and construct theirown learning.
Level 3 Exploratory Hypermedia

The Hypermedia Learning Station
To create a hypermedia learning station, one should interface with the computer a variety of hardware, such as, but not limited to, videodisc and CD – ROM.
Supports freeze frame, step motion, slow motion, and direct frame access.
Videodisc
Can hold ASD11 text, images, tables, audio, full – motion, animation, CAD diagrams, indexes, table of contents, and a standard directory.

Requirements
May include variety of images, sound, or information.
These may include a videodisc and CD – ROM, MacRecorder, Scanner, MIDI device, and digital cameras.
New technological cameras record the images to a small disk instead of film.
Digital Camera
Allows users to create, edit and add sounds to Hypercard stacks and borrow sounds from other Macintosh sources.
MacRecorder
Is a standard interface for computer access to high – quality musical devices.
MIDI Devices
It enables us to put images, such as drawings and photographs into our stack.
Scanner
Is a high – level English – like
programming language.

Is a single computer screen information.
