Items needed...
Last but not least...your
pup!
Step 1• Spend time with your dog, it’s that easy
to start training
• Watch and wait for your pup to sit...
(The easiest
step is the first step) Sit
• When your pup sits on their own just say, sit.
• This will help your pup understand what you mean when you ask them to sit later on.
Step 2•Get down on your pups level!
•Take a seat near your dog with a handful of those helpful treats
Step 3•Take your treat and bring it up
over your pups head. He or she will smell the food and follow it with their nose. This action will cause him to sit or backup.•The key to training your pup is to present the treat and say sit! At the exact moment the dog sits!
•This helps your pup connect the word, sit, with the action, to sit.
•So remember, as the dog sits, say "sit" and then quickly give him the treat.
Step 4•Repeat
•Three to five times at each session but no more than that.
•Training should be fun and not a boring chore so don’t tire you or your buddy out.
•You may have several sessions throughout the day
Problems...•If your dog backs up and doesn’t sit
•Take your time, try changing the way you are moving your hand until you find a way that works for you and your pet.
•Your pup is just not interested
•Take a break! There is no time limit, so take a much as you need. Try again when your pup is more interested.
