HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH
In the midst of the Christmas season, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family. From the exemplary witness of the Holy Family, each family can find precious guidance for the style and choices of life and can draw strength and wisdom for each day’s journey.
Mary, the Mother of God—World Day of Peace – New Year’s Day is designated as a Solemnity in honor of Mary, the Mother of God. The theme chosen by Pope Francis for World Day of Peace 2019 is” Good politics is at the service of peace". In his message he underlines how political responsibility belongs to all citizens. Political involvement is one of the loftiest expressions of charity, the message says, and it brings with it a concern for "the future of life and the planet, of the young and the least, in their thirst of fulfillment." We are thus called to bring and proclaim peace as the good news of a future where every living being will be respected in its dignity and rights.
May God bless you and your family with a Happy New Year.
Fr. Jinto Mathew CSC
We keep in our prayers the sick, elderly, the homebound, the “forgotten members” in our community, and their families and caregivers. “Lord surround them with your healing and steadfast love.” especially Frances Whittaker, Helen Cull, Stephanie Winkler, Jackie Marksman, Maria Jose Bouey.
