Installation:1. MounttheGRPholderinapositionsothatareleasedlifebuoywilleasilyfallintothewater.

2. Followtheinstructionsforthemountingboltsinaccordancewiththepictures.MakesurethatyoumountdoublewashersbetweenframeorbulkheadandtheGRPholder.

3. MounttheconnectorboxclosetotheGRPholder.MakesurethatthecablefromtheERUislongenoughtoreachtheconnectorbox.

4. InstallthescreenedcablefromtheconnectorboxtotheReleaseSwitchandconnecttheblackERUcabletotheconnectorbox.

5. MounttheReleaseSwitchinaneasytolocateandmanageposi-tionon thebridge.TheReleaseSwitchshallalwaysbemountedinsidethewheelhouseorbridge.

6. Connect24VemergencypowersupplytotheReleaseSwitch.Ensurethatyoufollowtheenclosedcon-nectiondrawing.Testtheelectricalinstallationaccordingtoinstructionsonthedrawing.

7. TheERUispre-installed.TheERUmustbemarkedwithitsexpirydate2yearsfrominstallationonboard.Followtheenclosedmarkinginstruction.AnERU,whichisnotproperlymarkedwithitsdateofexpiry,isnotapproved.

8. Putalifebuoy2/3rdsintotheGRPholderandthensecureitfortheinstallationphase.Usethesupp-liedthinwhitepilotlinetopullthereleasecordthroughtheERUunit.Makesurethatthelifebuoylineisnotontheoutwardsideofthereleasecord!Thismightentanglethelifebuoyinanactivationsituation.

9. PullupthereleasecordthroughtheERUholewiththepilotline.Secureitwiththemanualsafetypin.

10.ConnectthepowertotheReleaseSwitch.

11.ThesafetycoverontheReleaseSwitchcanbesecuredwithsomekindofeasy-to-breakseal,inordertoavoidunintentionaluseofthesystem.

12.Thesystemisnowreadyforuse.TheERUshallbechangedaftertwoyearsofservice.

TESTING THE INSTALLATIO

m glass tube fuse to the ERU RELEASE SW

output instead of the pos. 1 ERU unit. The fuse blows off w

hen the ERU RELEASE SW

is correctly installed.
