appy New Year and welcome to 2016! We
have many things to be thankful for this past year
and so many new plans for our membership to look forward to in 2016. I want to thank our 2015 club leadership for their dedication, commitment and service. Thanks to Roy Sewell and the Board for their wise leadership. They have guided us to our first year of zero-based, breakeven budgeting, the selection of a new General Manager, and great success in our much needed capital improvements project. The last piece of the project is the opening of the new restaurant in the Founders Clubhouse in just a few short months. I encourage you to join us at the President's Dinner on Saturday, January 23rd at 6:30pm, Founders Clubhouse to honor and thank Roy and his team for their service. As we look forward to 2016, we are excited to welcome Dave Porter as our new General Manager. He leads a great team that shares his vision of excellence for our Club. His vision is to bring Greystone up to a Platinum Level experience. We have high expectations that he will. If you would like a glimpse of a Platinum Level experience, I encourage you to visit the new Fitness Center. This project has been a huge success with member utilization skyrocketing and it has been a key driver in attracting new members.
We are also excited to welcome the Regions Tradition back to Greystone! This is a great opportunity to give back to our community while showcasing our club to potential new members. Obtaining new members is a key component to our future success as a club. I encourage you to invite friends to the tournament or to enjoy a round of golf; our courses have never been in better shape! In closing, I want to thank all the members that have agreed to serve in leadership positions in 2016. I under-
stand the time and commitment is great and I assure you we will work together to make the most of your service. I am honored to serve our membership and I look forward to an exciting and rewarding 2016. Sincerely,
Terry Smith
President 2016

Dear Members,
appy New Year! 2016 will be a year to remember at Greystone.
We have so many wonderful things planned for the Club this year, which I hope you and your family will be able to enjoy.
Golf – We are making some
organizational changes with Steve focusing more on the business, service and member experience from outside the trenches. He will be interacting and visible to the members as he always has been, but his office will move upstairs in the Founders Clubhouse and he will be accessible to members as needed. Dave Kuykendall will be moving to Founders as the Head Professional and Jon Gibbons will be moving to Legacy as the Head Professional. Both Dave and Jon will be taking their teams with them to the new location. These changes were not taken lightly and I am confident from past experience that the member experience will be substantially better as each of these men will make their mark with Steve leading them from more of a visionary position. Also, Steve has a program of golf trips to unveil to you with all of the trips open to members. There will be several new social and competitive golf events for members to enjoy. On the courses, you will see improved conditions from what has already been very good. We just completed a block buster deal with Jerry Pate (Toro) and John Deere to consolidate our leases and bring in all new equipment to arrive in March.
Food & Beverage - The operations have
stabilized with improved service and food quality. Our 12 member events in December were all successful and highly attended. We have several new and fun social events for you during the winter and throughout the year. In the early part of January, Chef André will be unveiling a new lunch menu that is a result of significant member feedback.
Fitness – Unfortunately, due to lack of usage,
we needed to close the childcare facility. We will be evaluating it again in the spring to potentially bring back some offerings when the
new restaurant opens.
Todd has some creative programs for the winter from full lifestyle/body transformation and something for the intense athlete. More info on page 12.
New services – In the March/
April newsletter please look for a two page spread on all of the new services we will be offering at Greystone. This will include services such as barber, tailor, food delivery, car wash & more.
Restaurant progress – The construction of
the new restaurant is coming along on schedule and planned for opening the first week of April. Equipment is ordered for the new kitchen and the furniture selections are out for bid. Frank Paduch and his team are doing an incredible job with quality and craftsmanship.
I would like to thank our member volunteers who will be serving on the 2016 Committees. I am excited to get started working with them.
Congratulations to Jim Clayton, Janice Folmar and Barry Vines on being elected to the Board. I look forward to working with each of you, as well as the six returning Board members. My sincere thanks to Roy Sewell for his leadership throughout the year and to Jeff Clifton, Rod Fuller and Al Del Greco for their service. Being that Dr. Clifton headed the search committee for a new General Manager I happen to think he is one of the smartest people I have ever met.
I am so excited for the road ahead I feel like I am a kid headed to Disney World.
All my best wishes to you and your family for a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Regards,
David W. Porter, CCM General Manager [email protected] (205) 986-5148

Dear Members,
New Years marks a new beginning. New people to meet, new adventures to enjoy and new memories to create. How fortunate for us that we have this special place to share our good times and see some of our cherished traditions carefully kept. One day we will all look back and realize what an incredible Club this is and feel blessed by the friendships created here.
I hope in the New Year that you will consider selecting a friend to give your Member Appreciation Certificate (mailed to you in December). After all, that’s one of the things that makes a Club a Club – when you belong to a place where your friends belong. Take a moment to think about your circle of friends or maybe one of
your neighbors. Please be reminded that the certificate expires on June 30, 2016 - so don’t wait too long; spring will be here before we know it. If I can help in any way by emailing our membership information, mailing a membership package, or meeting your friends for a tour, I hope you will let me know.
Wishing you the Happiest New Year ever,
Ashley Fuentes, CMP Membership Director [email protected] (205) 986-5146

would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year! My staff and I are
excited about all that lies ahead this year.
In March of 2016, we are slated to receive new equipment packages at both courses. The packages include the replacement of almost every piece at both facilities. In addition to replacing the old stuff with the latest and greatest technology, we will also be adding several new pieces. This will allow us to improve efficiencies in a lot of the tasks
that we currently perform, as well as provide us the tools to do new things, such as aerify the golf courses wall to wall and topdress fairways. We are very excited about the new equipment and improved conditions that it will help us pass on to you!
The Regions Tradition tournament in May will provide us a great opportunity to showcase the Founders Course. Much work has already been done to improve the course and much more is still to be done. We will be working on improvement projects such as replacing weak areas of turf with new sod, limbing up trees, and installing more subsurface drainage, among other projects over the coming months to get the course ready for the tournament. This is an exciting time for Greystone!
I look forward to seeing you on the course this year!
