(Cap. 43:06)Assizing-Mahalapye
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under the provisions of section 17 (1) of the Weights and Measures Act that all persons having weighing or measuring instruments, weights or measures in use in trade or in their possession or charge for use in trade, within the area specified in the Schedule, are required to produce the same to an assizer for the purpose of their being assized or re-assized at the place specified and at the appropriate time specified in the Schedule.
A person having, within the area specified, an instrument or measure which —(i) is fixed;
(ii) has a weighing capacity exceeding 272 kg; or(iii) is of delicate construction,
may request that such instrument or measure be assized or re-assized at his premises if he forthwith notifies in writing the assizer by whom this notice is published of the particulars of such instrument or measure and the place where it is ordinarily kept. Statutory' fees will be charged for assizing unassized equipment or reassizing equipment elsewhere than at the Assize Station. Metal measures of length bearing a legible assize stamp need not be re-assized.

The Minister of Finance and Development Planning hereby gives notice that applications will be received at the Bank of Botswana, Khama Crescent, Gaborone, on Thursday, 13ih January, 1977, at 12 noon, for Treasury Bills to be issued under the Stock, Bonds and Treasury Bills Act, 1976, and in accordance with the Treasury Bills Regulations, 1976, to the amount of P500 000.
2. The price per cent at which the Bills will be off ered will be published by the Bank of Botswana not later than 9 a.m. on Thursday, 13thjanuary, 1977.
3. The Bills will be in amounts of Pl 000 or a multiple of Pl 000. They will be dated 14th January, 1977, and will be due 91 days after date.
4. The Bills will be issued and paid at the Bank of Botswana.5. Each application must be for a minimum of Pl 000.6. Applications must be made through a commercial bank in Botswana.7. Notification will be sent, on the same day as applications are received, to the persons whose applications

North West District CouncilTENDER FOR SCHOOL BUILDING AT NOKANENG
Tenders are invited for a second time for the construction of:4 classrooms; 3 houses - teachers’ quarters; 7 pit latrines.
The building will take place in Nokaneng Village, 210 km east of Maun.Plans and specifications can be ordered from Works Superintendent, North West District Council,
P.O. Box 80, Maun. A deposit of P5 sent as a crossed cheque should be paid. If plans are ordered by mail cheques must enclosed.
The contract will include all bricklaying, carpentry and painting. It will also include brickmaking, transport and supply of stone, sand and water. The Council will supply all building materials including cement for brickmaking, but the contractor should transport all building materials from Maun to Nokaneng.
Construction should start on 1st March, 1977, and be finished, on 30th June, 1977. Any contractor who would need additional time should state so when forwarding tender.
Tenders should be forwarded to Council Secretary, P.O. Box 80, Maun, They must be sent in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Tender for School Building at Nokaneng” Tenders should be in hand before 15th January, 1977.
The invitation to tender is being repeated as the first tender notice produced an insufficient number of competitive tenderers. Those who have already tendered should resubmit tenders if they wish them to be considered again, and they may submit the same price or a different one. A further P5 is not required.

Tenders are invited for the construction and completion of 4 No. double workshop units, 2 single workshop units, common workshop, together with associated services of water and drainage including access road. Total plinth area of building approximately 972 m2. Building will be of conventional single-storey construction.

Tenders must be submitted in duplicate.The attention of prospective Tenderers is drawn to the following conditions:1. Tenders will only be considered from Contractors registered under the Companies Act, Laws of
Botswana, and with Central Tender Board at the date for submission of tenders, OR from such Contractors who can provide satisfactory proof of intention to apply for such registration under law and with Central Tender Board by the above-mentioned date provided always that if either registration application defined above is not accepted the tender will not be considered for acceptance.
2. Any Contractor who has complied with the foregoing and whose tender is being actively considered for acceptance will be required to provide within fourteen (14) days from the date of request by the Construction Consultant, BEDU, satisfactory proof that if awarded the Contract he will provide an acceptable surety equal to the following:
(i) Contracts not exceeding P250 00010% of the amount of the Contract Sum.
(ii) Contracts exceeding P250 000P25 000 with the addition of 5% of the part of the Contract Sum in excess of P250 000.
