My goals as a grassroots football coach, girls 13-16:

Vinterligaen:The Winter League
• Need of matches during winter to keep the girls interest• One match pr month Jan-March: artificial grass• Age group: Girls 13 – 15 years: most likely age for finishing football• The local clubs give the time on the fields• -10 degrees C no problem • 8 teams pr age group: appropriate to geographically and sporting
level

• Especially of sporting value for girls 13-teams• Football fields occupied all week: NOT in weekends• Lowers the barrier for girls joining the team again in spring• All contact towards clubs on team-level (no boardmembers)

Frisk Asker Football school• 12-year-olds instructors for 8- and 9 year old participants• Local arrangement: instructors and participants from the
same or neighbouring club• Small arrangement: 3 hours on Saturday, 40 kids and 12
instructors• Main goal: development of responsibility and self-
conficence of the instructors• Instructors practising exercises and coaching-tecniques
2-3 times in advance• Borrowing equipment from the club

• Freedom to the instructors: dynamically change of exercises (big difference in groups: 8 yrs girls vs 9 yrs boys..)
• Co-operation with the public school: instructors one day off, to planning and practising
• Low prize and direct communication with the kids coaches• 1-2 fathers ”in background” to support instructors if necessary

Frisk Asker referee-project
• 1-evening referee course, 14-year-olds• First match with observer and feedback• Referee all the club’s 9-12 yrs matches, 5x5 and 7x7• Refs paid on their next training

• All club teams happy to have refs on their matches
• Some 12-year-old boys (away team) a little too tough for 14 yrs refs
• Some refs preffered girls matches, some preffered older age groups (20,- kr better paid;)

• 300 guests, girls 12-15 years old• End-of-tournament celebration • Organizing committee: Amasone Girls 15• Decorating, arranging quiz, drawing lots, music,
cleaning up• Substitute players of mothers at the kitchen
