NBWW EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING SUMMARY
1. Call Meeting to Order Introductions & Roll Call Brandon Janes, North Branch Chicago River Watershed Workgroup (NBWW) President, called the meeting to order at 1:33pm in the Village of Northbrook, Terrace Room. Executive Board members present were Brandon Janes (President), Village of Deerfield; Matt Farmer (Vice President), Village of Northbrook; Rob Flood, North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD); Al Giertych, Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT); Matt Ueltzen, Lake County Forest Preserve District (LCFPD); and Robyn Flakne, Village of Glenview. An NBWW Executive Board quorum was present.
2. Approve December 11, 2019 NBWW Executive Board Meeting Summary The December 11, 2019 NBWW Executive Board Meeting Summary was approved. First Motion: Matt Farmer, Village of Northbrook Second Motion: Rob Flood, NSWRD The motion was passed with a unanimous vote.
3. Public Comment - None
4. New Business
a. Financial Report: Ashley Strelcheck presented the FY20 NBWW budget to the Executive Board. There were no changes from last month and no revenues and expenditures to approve.
b. Monitoring Committee Updates & Recommendations – Rob Flood explained that NBWW 2018 and 2019 (Years 1 & 2) monitoring data has been collected and MBI is currently putting together a draft monitoring report detailing the results. That draft report is due to the NBWW in August 2020. NSWRD will start their monitoring efforts for Year 3 in February 2020 and MBI is contracted to start their next round of sampling for Year 3 as well. Rob and Ashley proposed to cancel NBWW 2020 Monitoring Committee meetings until Fall 2020 when MBI sends the draft final report for NBWW’s review. The Monitoring Committee members agreed. i. Discussion: The Executive Board asked SMC to look into the remaining MS4 entities in
the watershed that are not a part of the NBWW. Only a small number of MS4 entities are not NBWW members and the Board would like SMC to investigate possible incentives for those entities to join the NBWW.
5. Old Business a. NBWW 2019 Annual Newsletter Discussion – Ashley presented the draft version of the 2019
NBWW Annual Newsletter to the Executive Board members for review. Ashley recapped the Monitoring Committee’s feedback on a few grammar and formatting requests for Ashley to revise. One of the comments made during the Monitoring Committee meeting was to add in a reminder on what the NBWW members community savings are; possibly what the financial savings are between monitoring on their own vs. being a part of the NBWW. Ashley will look

into the best way to convey this request in the newsletter. Ashley will distribute this newsletter at the February 12, 2020 General Membership meeting.
