the Uptown Oxford Memorial park and pavilion, with addresses from leaders
from the student body, university administration, the City of Oxford, and
community religious groups. Following the Uptown event will be a
commemorative march around campus. Choirs from the university and

this day.
4. Reports
a. Updates on the LLCs (Living Learning Community ) Residence Halls on
campus.
i. There are currently Spanish, French and German interest LLCs
on Campus.
ii. People have had the impression that they have to be
international or speak the language in order to live there, but
this is not true. We are thinking about making changes so that
the international LLCs attract more than just international
students.
iii. Here is the list of DACs ideas/suggestions:
1. International Interactions
2. Global Connections
3. Global Encounters
4. Market the LLCs to foreign language classes.
5. International Studies Classes Marketing
6. Put in the description information that its about culture
more than just being international
7. Market the Classes that goes with the LLCs.
8. Some international students dont want to live in the
international LLC because they think they wont be able to
meet- Non-international Students
9. Be careful about targeting the audience.
10.Will target toward people who embody diversity rather
than people that are interested in diversity

dorm-Market them together.
13.Maybe pair an international student with a non-
international student so that they could both learn each
others culture.
a. This is difficult because they dont know who the
international students will be until later.
iv. If you have any more Ideas, please contact Eloiza,
b. DAC leadership Board
i. Outreach Director
1. We are applying for funding through the Parents Fund for
busses to Wal-Mart, Jungle Jims, and the Mall.
a. The bussing proposal is attached and labeled
Appendix A . It is difficult to find rides to stores,
especially for international students. There is a bus
that goes to Hamilton Meijer currently and there is
a notion that that bus is sufficient, but this is an
arguable point. The proposal has already gone in
front of Parents Fund, but we have not received aresponse.
2. Just a reminder that the Parents Fund Is a good place to
get starter funding for new events and initiativesi
3. DAC is hosting a Canned Food Drive that will take place

initaitve, we will have Student Senators write a bill in action
promoting for the University to take action on making American
Sign Language a foreign language on our campus. For further
information, please contact Una Hrnjak.
d. Diversity Affairs Council Student Senators are hoping to write
legislation in regards to asking all Higher Education Student Personnel
