4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THE TOTAL SAFETY, HEALTH, AND WELFAREOF ALL INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE BUILDING PORTIONS IN WHICH DEMOLITION ANDSUBSEQUENT RECONSTRUCTION IS SCHEDULED TO OCCUR. PROVIDE ALLNECESSARY BARRICADES, PROTECTIVE SCREEN SHORING, ETC. ASNECESSARY.
5. ALL DEBRIS, EXISTING OR RESULTING FROM SCHEDULED CONSTRUCTIONDURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK, SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECTAREA ON A DAILY BASIS. ALL SPACES INCLUDING STAIRS AND CORRIDORSSHALL BE MAINTAINED AND LEFT IN A BROOM CLEAN CONDITION DAILY.
6. ALL FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT REMOVED AS SCHEDULED, SHALL BECONSIGNED TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR REUSE AS SALVAGEDMATERIALS OR DISPOSAL AS REQUIRED. ALL INTERIOR DOORS AND ANYITEMS WHICH MAY BE DESIGNATED AS SALVAGEABLE DURING THECONSTRUCTION PERIOD, SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERALCONTRACTOR TO CATALOGUE AND PROVIDE STORAGE AND PROTECTIONFOR ALL SUCH MATERIALS INTENDED FOR REUSE.
7. ALL EXISTING ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, AND HEATING SYSTEMS SHALL BEREMOVED, CAPPED, OR SEALED AS REQUIRED FOR THE CONTRACTOR TOIMPLEMENT THE NEWLY SCHEDULED WORK. SEE ELECTRICAL, HVAC, ANDPLUMBING DRAWINGS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
8. IN THE EVENT THAT UNCOVERED CONDITIONS ARE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE OROTHERWISE DISSIMILAR TO ANTICIPATED CONDITIONS, THE CONTRACTORSHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT AND ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY AND FOLLOWWITH A WRITTEN MEMORANDUM. PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH ANY BALANCEOF SCHEDULED WORK IN ANY GIVEN AREA, THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER SHALLPERFORM INVESTIGATION SUFFICIENT TO DETERMINE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITYOF THE GIVEN COMPONENT.
9. ALL EXISTING WALL AREAS WHICH WERE PREVIOUSLY INTERSECTED BY OTHERWALLS, ETC. SHALL BE REPAIRED. REMOVE OLD MATERIALS TO A POINTWHERE NEW FINISH MATERIAL CAN BE EFFECTIVELY APPLIED TO A SOUND FIRMBASE. ALL OTHER CRACKED AND DAMAGED WALL AREAS SHALL BEREPAIRED SIMILARLY PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION OF FINAL WALL FINISHES.CONSIDER SPECIFICALLY REMOVAL OF ANY DRYWALL TO FRAME PRIOR TOPROCEEDING WITH FINAL FINISHES.
10. ALL FLOOR AREAS UPON WHICH PREVIOUS WALL LOCATIONS WERE BEARINGSHALL BE REPAIRED BY THE REMOVAL OF LOOSE DEBRIS (FOLLOWINGPARTITION REMOVAL), AND RESURFACE TO CAUSE THE NEW FINISH FLOORLEVEL TO BE A SMOOTH TRANSITION BETWEEN MAINTAINED FLOOR AREASAND REPAIRED POINTS.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCATING ALL EXISTINGUTILITIES AND STRUCTURES BOTH VISIBLE AND OBSCURED BY OTHERASSEMBLIES, SUCH AS PAVEMENT, PLANTINGS, EARTHEN STRUCTURES,BUILDING, ETC., AND SHALL BE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALLPREPARATION REQUIREMENTS WHICH MAY RESULT FROM DAMAGE DURING THECONSTRUCTION OF THE WORK SCHEDULED BY THE DEVELOPMENT PLANS.
12. ALL DEMOLITION SCHEDULED BY THESE DOCUMENTS, OR AS MAY OTHERWISEBE REQUIRED BY PREVIOUSLY UNFORESEEN CONDITIONS, SHALL BECOORDINATED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR WITH ALL TRADESMAN, ANDWITH FINAL DRAWINGS OR MODIFICATIONS THERETO, TO DETERMINE THE TRUEAND FINAL EXTENT OF THE REQUIRED WORK.
13. ALL EXISTING MEANS OF EGRESS AND ALL FIRE PROTECTION FEATURES ARETO BE MAINTAINED DURING ALL PHASES OF WORK.
GENERAL SITE NOTES:
1. THE GENERAL NOTES AND THE FOLLOWING DRAWINGS ANDSPECIFICATIONS SHALL APPLY TO ALL CONTRACTORS ANDSUBCONTRACTORS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR AND ALL SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL COMPLY WITH THEOCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT OF 1970 (OSHA, LATESTAMENDMENTS).

ALL WORK IS SUBJECT TOINSPECTION, AND ANY PORTION OF THE WORK MAY BE REJECTED AT ANYTIME IF FOUND IN CONFLICT WITH AND CONTRARY TO THE CONSTRUCTIONDRAWINGS AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALLNECESSARY PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. THE COST OF ALL PERMITS ANDINSPECTIONS SHALL BE TOTALLY BORN BY THE CONTRACTOR.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETING ANDINSTALLING IN PLACE ALL SITE IMPROVEMENTS AS SHOWN, TO THESATISFACTION OF THE ARCHITECT AND/OR ENGINEER, AND/OR THE CITYENGINEER. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE GUARANTEED TO BE OF THEHIGHEST QUALITY STANDARDS.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING ANDREPLACING ALL DAMAGES TO UNDERGROUND UTILITIES AFFECTED BY THEWORK IN PROGRESS, OR ANY APPURTENANCES ENCOUNTERED.
7. RESPECTIVE UTILITY INSTALLERS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING ALLCOSTS FOR BRINGING NEW UTILITY SERVICES TO THE BUILDING. THESEINCLUDE BUT ARE NOT NECESSARILY LIMITED TO TAP FEES, IMPACT FEES,TRANSFORMER COSTS AND PRIMARY SERVICE LINE INSTALLATION FEES.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INVESTIGATE AND LOCATE ALL UTILITIES PRIORTO CONSTRUCTION AS FURTHER VERIFICATION TO SURVEY DATAPROVIDED. IN THE EVENT THAT VARIATIONS ARE FOUND, THE SAMEINFORMATION SHALL BE FURNISHED IMMEDIATELY AND IN WRITTEN FORMATTO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK ASORIGINALLY SCHEDULED.
9. VERIFICATION OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL, CITYAND/OR STATE GOVERNING AGENCY REQUIREMENTS IS THERESPONSIBILITY OF EACH CONTRACTOR.
10. THE LATEST EDITION OF THE STATE'S DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATIONCONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS SPECIFICATIONS (OR DEPARTMENT OFHIGHWAY REQUIREMENTS) ARE APPLICABLE TO THESE IMPROVEMENTS,UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFICALLY INDICATES.
11. ALL EXCAVATIONS SHALL BE PROPERLY BACKFILLED AS REQUIRED, WITHSPECIFIC ALLOWANCES MADE FOR SETTLEMENTS OF MATERIALS.
